Knock in rear diff

Got a knocking that sound like it’s from the rear diff.
It happens in reverse, when selecting first gear and during gear changes occasionally when driving.
Some comments on the forum says it’s normal and I can understand that because there is no bushing between the subframe and body that noise can be amplified.
While searching I came across This Service Information bulletin replaces SI B26 01 18 dated August 2018.
I’m interested to know if anyone has had this done.
The document is attached.
Thanks

You can check the rubber bushing if it's ruptured which is what that service bulletin is for.

Clunking during slow reverse and lows speeds is normal but I wouldn't say clunking when shifting up through the gears is normal at regular speeds

Hi, if you open the bulletin attached it says nothing about bushes it talks about play in the drive shaft splines and how to rectify it.

You're right my mistake. I was on mobile app when I first responded and didn't see you had an attachment. My google search took me to a totally different bulletin and I didn't check before I read it.

The clicking axle issue affected many of the early MY M2s (mostly 2016 2017) so it's definitely possible but you'd have to make sure first that it's where the noise is coming from

My end of warranty check is in April so will mention it to the dealer.
I’m sure they’ll fob me off with some highly technical reason compiled by their 17 year apprentice. But we’ll see.
