Correct. The only thing happening here is the adaption values being reset.

Car went in for a I-drive random fault and loss of some CP functionality with iOS 12.
Latest integration FW (aka I-step) updated - I-drive / CP gremilns fixed but too cold to hoon the car to see what else has changed. Allegedly, this update re- calibrates ePAS/DSC/M-diff [a la M2Comp perhaps ?] and N55 DME and DCT module both get "refreshed" plus - perhaps the biggest win for me - the PDC beeps switch off as soon as you take it out of reverse...... My ePAS already feels fairly "meaty" - my pre LCI DCT car has MP coilovers and -30min camber correction hubs. Drive to work - after picking it this morning - was too cold/short/mundane to comment further just yet, other than to say Idrive & CP functionality - big UPDATE:- My initial findings of update O18184I :- DCT - in all modes DCT feels smoother and quicker. Comfort gear changes are pretty much undetectable! Throttle mapping - in comfort is much better than before - feels more MDM mode TBH, which I really like. Possibly placebo but it does feel more urgent low to mid range in comfort/MDM/both sport modes and DSC off. Exhaust - overrun burbles - sound about the same but not a fan of pistol cracking / popcorn backfires TBH. MPE sounds mellower but fruitier in sport plus / track mode ie valves open. PDC - reverse beep continues after deselecting reverse - still there !!!!

Is ISTEP and I-Level the same thing? My dealer said they updated Factory I-level to the latest version, but the NBTevo_xxx value that you can look up through maps remained the same. When I picked up the car, all the presets and other memory items remained the there.
Does anyone know what does I-level update? |

If the vehicle always had the PDC turn off after taking it out of reverse, would this mean it has been updated?
I have a 2017 mid year build and it's always done this. No complaints here |

Dropped my car off today and asked them to do a software update, saying that there were a few ‘iDrive glitches’. They said they found that a ‘few settings had been changed’ ala my coding of stop/start and ASD. They didn’t seem too concerned but hopefully they’ll still do the update!

Your experience sounds quite different to most others as many have experience less sound from their update! |

Bump for what? Whether to do an update or not is a no brainer. It's worth it just for the less intrusive stability control and better steering feel. I did not notice any changes in sound.
I went from mid 2017 software to mid 2019 and the difference was dramatic. Where the traction control would step in even in MDM mode I can now get significant wheel spin and slip angle. It is way more fun. |
