Looks like a pretty small difference between the N55-powered M2 and the S55-powered M2C. The former’s a lighter car, so it’s hard to say how much is down to the engine itself, I suppose.

The OG is 150lb lighter so stock for stock the power bump is nearly meaningless. When you start talking about modifying them, the OG is actually easier to run as a dual purpose car. Stock seats take harnesses, pads are easier to swap and you can bolt on 18s with fat ass 200tw tires in more compounds without buying $5500 APs.

Everyone has said for years on here GET THE M2C IF YOU TRACK but I simply disagree having run a modified OG on track for years now and suspect the vast majority aren’t saying that because of personal experience.

I avoid events in June/July, but not only is it hotter than the car likes then it’s hotter than I like. People that just quickly type “M2C for track”, are generally not people that track their M2 heavily in my experience they’ve just read it on forums or are racing BMW specs in their head.

Exactly why I chose OG over comp for dual duty. A couple bolt ons(IC, DP, Charge Pipe), camber plates, 18x10 square w/ 275’s, schroth quickfit, easy pad swap, and gooo!


I believe the OG has the oil pump/sump and pistons from the s55, so no real issues there. Add an aftermarket intercooler to helps manage temps and you’re all set.

Reality is 99.8% of people can’t get close to the actual limit of either vehicle completely stock on track and it’s just a bunch of fully grown kids arguing at the lunch table over which superhero can beat up another one.

True, I can’t even explore the limits of my M235, and it’s stock. To me it’s crazy fast and there aren’t tuns tight enough to explore the limits
