I personally like the 437M due to the concave design and being the lighter wheel as well. Chances are I will be changing the wheels at some point so having the lighter wheel for track duties would definitely be more ideal for me.
Just did some researching and found the following information: meaning the 437 and 763 save approx 6-7kgs over the 788 763M (TOTAL = 38.58 kg) Wheel Weight, Front: 20.75 lbs (9.41 kg) Wheel Weight, Rear: 21.78 lbs (9.88 kg) 437M (TOTAL = 40.28 kg) Wheel Weight, Front: 21.9 lbs (9.93 kg) Wheel Weight, Rear: 22.5 lbs (10.21 kg) 788M (TOTAL = 46.2 kg) Wheel Weight, Front: 24.7 lbs (11.2 kg) Wheel Weight, Rear: 26.24 lbs (11.9 kg) Source for these numbers are from https://bimmertips.com/oem-bmw-f87-m...l-style-specs/

Bigger question,....Why does anyone care who likes what?? Everyone’s official vote was made (or can be made) with their dollar.

I can see how it would depend on your color as well. I find that I don't nearly dislike the 788 as much when it's on black.

The hatred and vitriol when discussing M2 stock wheels (and unsprung weights) at Bimmerpost.
We are a passionate bunch.. and I love it! For me: 763M > 437M > 788M. I do appreciate the design of the 788 as a stock wheel. Just difficult to clean.. The 788s have grown on me. Their main weakness is that they are too busy. The only wheel that can accomplish that and look amazing are the BBS LMs... which the 788s are kind of a modern take on. The 763 and 437 were immediately beautiful to me the first time I saw them. I am personally going with BBS, BC Forged, HRE, Titan7, Apex, Vossen, or Vorsteiner. They all make better looking wheels than BMWs anyway. And that's why they all exist as successful aftermarket companies. Last edited by csbear; 06-14-2020 at 12:01 AM.. |

Luckily for my region choosing the 437 and the standard blue brakes mean I automatically save 21 kgs over the U.S standard spec car. (big brakes being 15kg heavier).

Who keeps stock wheels anyways ? Stock wheels are for winter regardless what model .They all fit like trash and leave so much room in the fender well .
Get some proper HREs and never mind the bmw stockies! Oh ya I vote for the 437s 😝 |

My biggest issue with 788Ms is that they don't look concave at all. It makes the car look less wide.
Even though we all know the body is wide, 788Ms flattens it to make the car look pedestrian. Blacked out 788Ms look better because the black color makes our eyes think it's sunken visually compare to the machined metal look. IMO the 788Ms might be worst OEM wheels to come on an M car for the F generation. And I agree with the consensus, 763M > 437M > 666M > 788M. Last edited by OG///M; 06-14-2020 at 05:37 PM.. |

still not as nice as 437M on black , as you say above the muscular appeal of the car suites concave and I think the black/diamond cut brushed finish of the 437M looks better than the single colour 763M on the black car.

Yeah, 255/35 & 285/35. Am hesitant to go 30 profile as I do a bit of country driving and our roads can be very ordinary, initially I wasn't sure about the looks of the taller rear sidewall but am now used to it.

PS4s with 5mm spacers up front, nothing rear, makes the guard/tire offset look identical front/rear. Also slightly lowered on Ohlins R&T, 10mm front (though stock it came with 'bad road package' which rides higher than normal stock) & around 6 mm rear. Here's another couple

I thought I wanted new wheels before I got the car... now that I have the car I really love these wheels. I think it just takes getting use to because it’s different vs the OG. I also had the OG too
