'21 M2 Competition (Manual) - Squeek Sound

Hey everyone,

I have a 2021 M2 Comp with a manual transmission. The car currently has 22k miles on it.

Recently, I started hearing a bizarre squeek sound occurring outside of the cabin when driving in Sport/Sport Plus.

It's hard to tell exactly what it could be but I do know that it's really only occurring around the time I shift. So today I decided to get some footage and replicate the sound.

Here is the video:

Any thoughts on what it might be?

Current Car Mods:
AA Single Midpipe - Non-Resonated
Remus Race Exhaust Axle-Back
H&R Super Sport Lowering Springs
Apex VS-5RS Wheels
Apex 75mm stud kit
12mm spacers
M-Performance Short Shifter

Super weird, my only guess is maybe check the exhaust valve actuator? The Remus actuator clip is known to come off or break.

OP, i pretty much have the same squeaking sound on mine after shifting on low speeds. I have Dinan axle back and res delete. When i still had full warranty, i had it checked by the dealer shop foreman and they concluded that it was coming from the Axle back and suggested to get it welded on instead of currently being clamped. The sounds was gone when they removed the axle back during diagnosis.

I’m assuming your exhaust set up is also clamped on yeah?

Good notes, yea mine is clamped as well. I'm going in today to my buddies shop to see where it could be coming from. I'll put an update here if we find the cause.

Sounds good. Keep me posted. I actually haven’t had it welded it yet and i’m still experiencing the squeezing sounds so it would be good to know what you guys find out and confirm what the dealer informed me…

After seeing my buddy at the shop, I had him ride with me and of course him being in the car, the car would not make a sound. Then, once we put it on the lift he couldn't see anything that could be causing the problem, no fitment issues with the exhaust, everything looked normal. He did however spray the exhaust valve actuators with WD-40.

Over a week since I've been at the shop now and still no more squeaking.
I know this isn't much help but maybe it was just the valves causing the sound.

Hope you're able to figure it out eventually.
If anything should occur in the future I will be posting about it on here.

Best of luck!
