Kevin / EAS - what exactly does the AWRON look like for a 2018 / LCI car? Do they supply the entire long trim piece that extends across the passenger dash? Or is that center vent section separable from the trim and the Awron kit only includes vents?

Do you have any customers who have used the RHD version of the kit in the US? I don't want to lose the vent closest to me, I want the display in the right-side vent instead.

Awron uses the OEM vent assembly with the display screen fitted inside. If a trim piece is part of the assembly, it will be included.

Typically, we keep LHD in stock only. RHD vents can be special ordered, it's a bit far away from the driver (or catch glare) and can be hard to see in some cases.

I was thinking that on the M2 at least, the gauge sits nearly flush with the face of the vent so I'm hoping that "hard-to-see" isn't a problem... (I know that in some other models it is set deeper into the vent assembly but the pics of the M2 setup have it almost flush with the face with a shallow bezel around it?)

Surprised that it isn't possible to just move the display from the LH to RH vent. Is it glued in there permanently? I've used the P3Cars gauges on VW and Audi in the past, and with those you disassemble the vent yourself and put it in...

The vents are next to each other, it's really not a concern.

If you want the RHD, we can order it for you to arrive on the next shipment. I wouldn't recommend disassembling the unit as it would likely void warranty.

That's my concern though - if the gauge is pre-installed into the OE vent assembly and the trim panel, the LCI trim panel is massive and is specific to steering wheel position. I don't want you guys to order "the RHD version" and for it to have the trim coming off the left side of the assembly and be completely useless to me.

Does the gauge come pre-installed in part #3 on the diagram here? Just the vent section?

Or do they include the vents pre-installed in the massive trim piece on the LCI, number 5 on this diagram?

If it's just the vents, cool.

I'm kind of astounded that the EVC control option is another $200 though. Is it just a software solution, or does the factory valve need to be cut out and replaced with something new that can talk to the DGA?

That's uhhh... that's not the LCI vent section.

This is what the LCI vents look like:

From another angle (neither of these are my pics, just lifted off the web):

Note that if the front trim piece comes off of the Awron setup, leaving only the section circled in red below, I think that entire vent assembly (including the Awron gauge itself) could then be snapped into the trim for the LCI... but I'm not 100% sure of that, as different part numbers are shown for the old dash vs the LCI. I suspect the difference may just be the fascia and the vents behind are probably identical... but not having seen them both next to each other in person, I can't say for sure.

For reference, there are 4 different vent part numbers for an M2, depending on whether it's LCI or not, and whether it has "auto A/C" (option S534A = yes).
old dash:
S534A = yes: 64229317945
S534A = no: 64229317944

LCI dash:
S534A = yes: 64229347436
S534A = no: 64229347435

I'm not sure if any M2s were produced without auto-AC... Maybe the "performance edition" cars with the manual seats?

On the LCI dash, that entire long piece of trim across the dashboard has to come out to get the vents out. Instead of having a little plastic cover on the vents like the old dash did, the "burnt wicker" trim piece acts as the "fascia." Note the different shaping of the plastic around the vent open/close wheels, as well as the faint indentation around the lock button and the hot/cold wheel, too.

I would expect the LCI version of the gauge to be sold without the silver+black plastic surround, and instead just look more "bare," assuming that the user is supposed to swap the trim piece from their existing assembly over to the new vents.
