I just got mine delivered a week ago today. After test driving a late model 2019 and 2020's there hasn't been any changes that can be noticed. All though COVID did throw a wrench into this whole delivery experience!

Same day for me as dealer had an allocation, I made sure before I put my deposit

My CA has 2 allocations for M2 comp as of yesterday so you'll get a production number right away. She also has an M2 CS allocation. Please feel free to send me a message if you'd like contact info.

Thanks for asking — Delivery was Friday at Performance Center, but I just got home last night. Great time! Great car! I'll post more after I get caught up on sleep and a few business that have deadlines. Do you have a delivery date?

I ordered on 6/18/20 and just got production number on 9/8/20.
On 9/9/20 the status was upgraded to an assigned production date (but it doesn’t say when)

Your CA should be able to tell you the production date. You can also call BMW customer relations at 1 (800) 831-1117 to find out.

I don’t know if I’d go that far, but I hope they didn’t make you any promises on early delivery dates. I put my order in on 6/30. Taking delivery at the dealership this week. Car arrived there last Monday.

Once you have a production number your CA will be able to see three week numbers on their internal system: requested build week, submitted build week, and confirmed build week. The confirmed build week is the week your car will END production.

Are you kidding me? it takes 2 1/2 months to get a production number? Dealer is sitting on his deposit with no allocation. the entire ordering process from putting a deposit down to receiving the car takes between 60-90 days

I’ve heard that even in the absence of an allocation, when a dealer puts an order in that is assigned to a customer, the manufacturer usually accepts it and produces it. It’s possible that this was an experience that was outside the norm. Just trying to assume positive intent, even if the experience seems odd.

Huh? There is no guarantee from deposit to production number. BMW AG is under no obligation to give your dealer an allocation once you put a deposit down.

Absolutely so you ensure your dealer has a confirmed allocation before you put your money down , its as simple as that

I just picked up my 2021 yesterday!

I got the order confirmation number on Jul 27 and took delivery Sept 16 so the whole process took a little less than 2 months.
