That's what happened to me - was scheduled to pick up and day before was told I couldn't. The stop-delivery for the M2 is worldwide, so I don't see how your dealer would let you pick it up. Make sure to call them and confirm so you don't run into any disappointments come the weekend.
I wouldn't wait. I'd be like, "I'll be there by noon". Maybe if they rush, it'll slip through. Heh.

The best bet is to get onto your dealer, make them aware that you know of the differential problem and take it from there.
If you are affected don't let them register it as it would be advisable to wait for the 66 plate now.

I was given the runaround as my car got stuck and still is at the factory. It was only when I let them know, that I knew about the problem, that they then held their hands up...

Even though it was only built last week, which is two weeks after the supposed affected cars were built until?

You've got me worried now lol.

What a shame.

I'm actually going to my dealer in 10 minutes to find out what is going on and to drop my current car off.

Luckily I'm not actually picking it up until 1st September anyway.

When was yours built?

So, does anyone know what exactly is the issue with the differential? Is it just the 'bolt(s)' or something entirely different?

The recall is 3,800+ cars at this point and increasing. Would not be surprised if they're still finding out more cars were affected.

What about the cars in Production? Will they need to be retrofitted?

Production of M2s is continuing. I hope they won't need to fix the differential on these "new" cars.

That I don't know and neither do my guys. Information from BMW has not been very forthcoming.

Ok so my cars build was completed last week and I have just spent 30 minutes at my dealership with the DP who spent 10 minutes on the phone. Yes they can see lots of cars affected however my VIN was not on the list. Thankfully it looks like I'm all good.

FYI I had a week 31 scheduled production and my dealer just informed me my car has entered 150 status with a scheduled completion date of 8/3. Also said the current stop sale and diff problem will not affect my car.

Is your car a MY17? If yes, does it have iDrive 5.0?

That includes M2/3/4/5/6 and a few regular 5 and 6 series cars. It's extensive.

What I've been told by my GM via BMW Canada is that a few bad apples were found so they're replacing every car within the batch to be safe.

'm also status 150 but I've been there since July 12th with a production end date of July 25th but when you look in the dealer system there are no updates so I'm assuming that they have not done anything and are holding off production until fix is complete.

So when you say replacing what does that mean? I guess that is the real question. Oh well the joys of being a early adopter. My car drives like a dream so I'm not stressing about it.

I just got off phone with BMW Genius. I am also week 30 production scheduled to be completed on July 25. Genius stated my car was done and getting final cleaning/going over and they expect a final completion date tomorrow. They said my car was definitely not included in the differential recall. When I run my VIN in BMW VIN decoder, it shows a production date of 7/23/2016.

On a separate note, still no information on when the EPA hold will be lifted for MY2017.

I decided to call my dealer anyways. And I am one of the lucky ones that was not affected. Car finished production June 20th and is now waiting for me at the dealer.
