[QUOTE=gmzanatta;20292871]Yeah, who knows at this point. So much speculation at this point on this whole issue that it's painful.

I'm also being held at VPC since July 7. New update as of today I am one of the affected cars. No ETA.

My car arrived last week and was suppose to pick it up last Friday. That following Saturday my CA notified me about the recall. Kinda glad I didnt pick it up for one day and then have to give it back. I stopped by my dealership today and it outside in the "service" lot.

It doesn't look like this have affected production as it looks like quite a few people on here (including myself) either had their build start this week or planned for next week. I haven't seen anyone on here that has complained about their production being delayed either.

My dealer says there is nothing showing for my car. He said his experience with BMW is that for cars already delivered, they will recall them once the fix is available unless there is a risk of injury/failure, etc. So, his comment is either my car isn't impacted or they won't know until they get a note from BMW to pull the car in to be fixed but that won't happen until they have a fix and the replacement parts. That is, if anything, it is a normal service call and visit.

What gthal said is correct - my GM delivered an M4 convertible a few weeks back that is now part of the recall and customer can keep it until fix is available. Affected cars are still rolling in and my GM expects that to continue as they find out just how deep the (sh*t)hole really is. Also, a worldwide stop-sale and stop-delivery has now been issued for the M2 according to my guys. Not sure on other M's. |

Case in point. I received a recall for my X5 airbag, saying if it goes off, I could die from the shrapnel ! Parts are not available and not expect to late summer early fall. So if you got them (M2), smoke them |

The new list is not out yet but they added specific vins to an update in the system as of 7/21. Anybody that PM me their vin I will check it again tomorrow. It's now more than 202 cars and it's going to be awhile. No parts available.

I'm frustrated because I got photos and scheduled the pick up - only to get a call the next day and have my pick up cancelled. Had I not been traveling I would've picked up the car... Some more feedback from my guys: New list issued last night, however not all cars on it have a bad rear diff. They were simply part of a batch that had a few bad ones, but BMW is replacing all to avoid any future trouble. List is 3800+ and climbing, my guys think all cars built in that period will now be recalled. |
