FI Exhaust - Not loud enough?

My girlfriend got herself a M2 2017 the other day, equipped with a full Frequency Exhaust with remotes and everything. Sound quality is good, pops are great and the tone is awesome but the system is just too quiet.

Have anyone had a any similar experince? New to BMW from our part as I drive an R8 and 911 myself. Browsing some made me realize that people complain about the newer BMW engines being too soft on the sound. For example, if the same system where to have been installed on a Golf R or similar, you'd need earmufflers.
Is it true?

So my question is, what can we do to improve the sound?
OEM cat is installed - car is not mapped. Everything is OEM apart from the exhaust.

This is what the system looks like:

FI exhaust is one of the loudest and most aggressive exhausts for the M2. the restriction is your oem downpipe. Replace that with a 200 cell or catless and it'll be loud

Would that require a mapping?

Hello there, Ive been in your place before, i first got the Full exhaust system from FI, it sounded better but not louder.
i installed a decatted Armytrix DP and now it sounds amazing, plus the active system from FI really helps to quite the car alot when you need it.

Side note, installing the Armytrix DP didnt result in a CEL warning.

The fab speed 200 cell cat and akrapovic 300 cell dont require mapping from my understanding. I have a fab speed 200 and i dont need to map the car and doesnt throw a check engine light

You don't need a mapping with either catless or catted. A mapping simply takes away the CEL and utilizes the extra flow but nothing bad will happen to the car if you choose not to map it.

Thanks for the replys fellas, I'll make sure to get her a new downpipe. Luckely she's able to tone it down with the remote when using it daily.

Appreciate the quick help!

Installed a new downpipe yesterday from RM Motors. Catless.

The car turned into a beast. Such an upgrade, worth every penny!
So far, so good - No check engine or whatsoever.
