Different people have different desires... I'm disappointed in the dakota leather 2er sport seats, but it's not a deal breaker. My ass is in the seat 100% of the time I'm driving the car, so of course it adds a lot to the special feel of a car.

Here's the seats Audi uses in the S3

I understand what you mean. But the amount of complaints over the seats is absurd. There was no precedent for this car to get special seats and they shouldn't have been expected.

Eh, I don't think it's ridiculous to expect M seats in an M car. Just because the 1M didn't have them doesn't mean the M2 couldn't have them. It is what it is.

As far as I am aware there is no automatic option available, just the two gearbox choices of 6MT or M-DCT.

Auto is only available in M235.

He was referring to the M-DCT, which BMW also refers to as the "automatic" option.

That is wrong.
BMW says it is identical.

Apparently there was a revision/correction to those docs.

Maybe Jason can (re?) correct the info in link I posted, if it's indeed wrong.

Anyone know if these cars use any aluminum for the body panels?

Strange, most if not all BMW websites claim they are identical too. But to be fair it seams more likely that they are different.

^What he said. I must be in a small group of people who don't think this car is very attractive; I liked the aesthetics of the 1M more!

Please don't start saying "oh if you care so much about aesthetics, ///M cars aren't for you"

No need for a correction. Jason confirmed the over-square bore/stroke here.

So no cloth interior, no buckets, no cf roof ... why not offer as options? Why do I need to mod seats on M car to be able to drive on track?

Do brake calipers have an access plate for easy pad change?

What about from the back top view down? That looks epic. Reminds me of the curves on a 911 looking down on it...

Yeah but while the fenders look great there it's hardly an angle you see normally. And even there those reflectors have to go!
