Thanks Rendezvous Rendezvous
Your photos are helpful, I think for sure I pulled mine out again when fiddling with the air intake. When you put your air intake on, did you have the rubber tube that connects inlet to intake on the inlet pipe and then slid it to the intake, or another way? I am thinking this order: Have inlet pipe in (obviously) Have air intake and air box clipped and secured (mine is still stock) Have rubber tube loose on the inlet pipe Slide rubber tube to intake Tighten clamp on intake Tighten clamp on inlet pipe Is this the order of operations you would suggest? |

So the awesome guys at IND's body shop looked at my inlet pipe on the lift, and they said it was 100% fine.
They also found my downpipe was loose, and tightened it. Exhaust note sounds throatier, and the slight rasp and whistle I had on acceleration seems to be gone. Car is perfect. |

My theory is that the air intake, if too tight, can pull on the inlet pipe since it is fastened to that grommet at the front-center of the car. I think that was what happened to me the first 2 times it got loose (plus, my first time installing this pipe, I didn't get it quite flush). 2nd time I think it was more or less flush but I had tightened the air intake to the turbo inlet pipe prior to clamping down the airbox and fastening the air intake to that grommet. |

Plastic version installed on my m135i previously and also now on my m2 - no issues with plastic version on either car.

So my inlet pipe came out last night after a 12 hour day of hard driving at the Dragon (and surrounding areas/roads in NC/TN/GA) Came out enough to make a loud whistle, but not all the way out.
Shoved it back in today, and drove hard all day so far seems to be good, but it's a bit loose for sure. Not affecting my driving but bothering the hell out of me. Not impressed with the design. They told me I can put the 10mm nut back on the stock thread that hangs out of the turbo inlet flange, and that should at least keep it from coming out completely. Still not a great solution. |

No one has yet provided information on the FTP internal diameter. I'd have ordered it months ago if only we had this information.
I've never heard of anyone having problems with the stock unit besides flow, and if the FTP is the same diameter as stock... Why bother?
