If it's that efficient and if it reduces so easily tyre noise, My question is why on earth didn't BMW put these seals in the F87 or 235i (and 240i?) ?
Can't be be for cost or weight cutting !! Is it better without it in their opinion ? For which reason ? Are we missing something ? |

I haven't really pursued it since the quote from BMW but ECS Tuning was an option, only problem with them was shipping costs were crazy high and was only worthwhile if you were buying other items at the same time or multiple sets.

Hate to resurrect an old tread. But used to race bikes and because of this have hearing damage. So I want performance without too much drama. Love to drive fast but want to be able to hear the person next to me. So.
Have any of you added back the door insulation that is not meant to be in the F87 doors? I find that doors often transfer road noise from the exterior especially if there is little or no insulation.. Thanks! |

Where did you order the door seals for $15 each?

I installed the door seals on my M2. It was a complete waste of time since this mod had zero impact on anything.

Agreed - suspect of anyone claiming these make a large difference - anything I noticed I couldn’t decide if it was a placebo affect or what - I took them off after a week

See the post above. As I said - complete waste of time.

You guys must be deaf or listen to music the whole time you're driving.
Lowered interior levels significantly for my car. Now if I could figure out how to quiet the rear tires down too. |

For those that say this makes no difference. Do you guys still run ASD?
For those interested I've achieved a 4 db drop in interior noise by restoring insulation in the rear. Check out the sound insulation thread.
