CS Rev Match
Does this car have rev match? Finally took it to the canyons for a little fun.
Nine months of ownership and driven less than 1000. I was heel-toeing and can't be bothered j/k. |

Yes. Unless you turn DSC off.

Thank you.
Tried on the streets, freeway DSC was on just couldn't get the rev match to function. I know the dealer installed some updated software don't know what for. Up in the canyons DSC on nothing. Sport mode and + on, still nothing. |

Interesting. My rev match is on in sport and sport plus. I've gotten so used to it that it was strange when I didn't have it. To me it's a safety blanket against a spun crank hub due to downshifting too soon. Like anything else sure people get used to it. Heel toeing becomes a pain.

Mine does it too. It was weird when I tried to slower down the car by downshifting, leaned that won’t work 😂
My new 911T has it on off and I can do that again, totally different driving characteristics. The rev match is good for people that are not comfortable with manuals. Having said that, it never bothers me, just different to what I am used to. I won’t drive DSC off on public streets, not worth the risk for me personally - YMMW. |

Maybe previous owner coded off this Rev Matching feature. Did a quick search and it looks like there is a setting in Bimmercode which may disable/enable this feature. Worth doing some more research on the coding subject.

Do your mirrors fold in when you lock the car? Does your seat slide back when you open the door. These would be to surefire ways to know your car has been coded. IF they don't do this, then you should get bimmercode anyway because you are missing out

I would tread carefully unless you are confident the dealer will not flag your car. If rev match has been messed with they could try to void your powertrain warranty. I'd see if any of the remote tuners could give you a hand. There are a number of them on the forum that won't charge much to take a look.

M1 mode is DSC off for me. No rev match. I don’t like it. I’ve only had one close call with losing the car, and it was a one time lapse in judgment as my foot was to the floor in 2nd gear going dead straight on cold tires as the boost ramped up and traction slipped away and darted left pretty hard. I was able to correct it, but it was a real scare.
99% of the time I’m driving slowly with the occasional 80% push of the car. |

I think I'm going to try running with nannies off at my next track day and see if I notice a difference. There will be a lot of changes to the car so I'll be starting off slow anyway.

I rev match and heel-and-toe like nobody's business in my Mazda but between the touchiness of the brake pedal and lack of engine braking due to Valvetronic in the M2C I really prefer auto rev match.

Not coding, BM3. As soon as I flashed BM3 Stage 2 91 map it automatically gave me the things I wanted most; cold-start disable and rev match with DSC fully off!
I was so, so happy. This is exactly my experience with my Lotus and M2. In the Lotus the rev matching is pure joy, but the terribly slow and indirect response of the M2 makes it a much more enjoyable experience to let the computer do it. |
