The new G87 m2 looks good in person but not as sexy as the F87 M2CS. Pretty much seals it for me and holding on to my cs.

Thanks for showing the side-by-side shots. From the the photos, it’s hard to tell: did the new G87 feel or look like a larger car than your F87? Or were they roughly similar in size?

Also, these shots make me glad my eyes aren’t fish-eye/wide-angle lenses. The wide-angle lenses on today’s smartphones don’t do either car any justice.

GOTDAM the G87 looks wide and menacing next to the F87, even w/o all of the extra bits the CS model gets. The F87 looks cute though

My oh my, besides the obvious looks advantage the F87 has, the G87 looks like a city bus in comparison.

Someone described the GX Ms as insectoid menacing. I can see it. I’m sure they’ll improve the front LEDs with the LCI.

G87 is much bigger overall. The width of the side rockers looks to be about 5 inches or more from the door.

Definitely the g87 is wide af and I do appreciate that but it's just so ugly in this version. I'll see what the next CS will look like and for now I'll hold onto my f87cs

How could BMW get the G87 so wrong? I would’ve been very tempted to get one if the styling wasn’t so ugly. Long live the F87 lol

In fact , the width of the F87 is 187.1cm and the G87 188.7cm. Flare fenders on the F87 are just much smoother with the rest of the design. 1.6cm thats 0.8cm on each side wider. In the attachments below , u can clearly see that the flared fenders on the F87 are better intergrated with the rest of the design , it goes with the flow. The G87 looks wider , because those flare fenders are much more aggresive- especially in the front. But again it depends from which angle you see the car. To me the three quarter view of the G87 looks a bit weird , especially on the rear fender , i looks like “hips fat” on several photos.

I was surprised to see how big it is next to the F87 to be honest , hood - length - it does looks wider .

You're very right about that. It's the curvature in the back from the trunk that makes the g87 seem more exaggerated. How about the track width on the front compared to the f87?

G87 is ripe for upgrade versions that will improve the looks. They did the same thing with the G80. Base model looks terrible. The more aggressive models start looking much better.

I think you'll find the F87 has a more classic timeless design. But that means it's never going to look extreme.

IMO. No one but enthusiasts really look at the M2CS. It doesn't stand out or really draw attention. If you like showing off it's not for you. The G87 is/going to be a lot more flashy, and stand out from other cars going down the road. It'll get more attention.

Interestingly, this is not my experience at all. I get so many non-enthusiast thumbs ups, comments out the window at stop lights, gas staton conversations, etc. Way more than any other car I've owned.

G87 isn’t looking bad to me and I like the combo AW with beige leather.
I think I would be happy with a G87 too.

The G87 front and rear vents just kill the looks for me. Too much lego.

I'm sure it drives well.

It’s hit or miss for me. I got a lot of attention from some enthusiasts, and then even others don’t even seem to notice it.

Anything short of driving an exotic, it gets more attention from people I’d least expect it. Older people, young kids that know it’s a CS, and non car people at my office wondering what the heck kind of BMW it is.

I actually like flying under the radar a bit, which is one reason I have purchased M cars vs. Vettes or entry level Porsches.

That said, a modded G87 will be bold. I think it looks good stock, but not a timeless beauty. The only changes I would make is suspension and maybe wheels.

Don’t mean to keep interrupting the CS circle jerk going on here but figured some may be interested in a decent track video of a bone stock G87. Definitely worth a watch.
