A new S55 is like 30-40k if I recall...if that's the diagnosis then no wonder they stopped calculating the damage. But from the pictures I have a really hard time believing the engine is done unless the block has a major crack or something of that nature.

I'm not so sure that's true.

In Australia at least, the cost of the new G87 M2 is pretty close to what the CS came at (without CCB)

Also, if I was to replace the CS and didn't need the back two seats, I'd go with the Lotus Emira

Just look on the F8x forum. Anytime the oil cooler is punctured, oil pressure is lost rapidly and engine damage occurs if it’s not cut off immediately. These engines aren’t kind to their rod bearings normally, nevermind having lost oil pressure.
