Long long ago, my 2011 E82 1M was coiled over with JRZ
It broke 5 times, although Ido have to say, they fixed it 5 times under warranty. But after that I knew; never ever again. When no problems the ride quality was outstanding, but I didn't trust it anymore. For the CS; it is is so refined on comfort setting, the rear end harscheness from the OG M2 is completely gone. Be advised; let it be, fine as it is. (I do think its one of the best standard suspension set up from BMW in a long long time) But still no comparison to my 718 GT4, its unbelievable how good the P car is doing on road compliance and suspensions set up. |

I agree that it is silly to remove what is one of the key features of the CS, but I don't think concern for coilovers breaking is a significant reason.

According to this thread. the M2 CS spring part numbers are exactly the same as the M2C.
https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...90&postcount=1 The coil spring part # for the the M2 CS, Spring Front: 31337853271, shared with M2/M2 LCI/M2 Competition Spring Rear: 33537853275, shared with M2/M2 LCI/M2 Competition And of course EDC are carried over from the F80/82/83, albiet having a different tuning, Spring strut, EDC, front left : 31318008627 Spring strut, EDC, front right : 31318008628 Shock absorber for EDC, rear left: 33528008629 Shock absorber for EDC, rear right: 33528008630 Assuming if the spring part numbers are exactly the same, then the spring rates are the same and this makes a modest lowering spring designed for M2C to be a better option then M Performance HAS for M3/M4?

Has anyone installed 3 way coilovers already in the CS? Any feedback from a daily perspective? I will be using my car 70% of the time at the track so I will benefit from it. Otherwise I think the standard set up is perfect.
Just looking for real life feedback. |

It has been a few weeks with the MP HAS kit installed and it's very compliant ride w/o sacrificing the ride quality after lowering her a bit. It feels absolutely factory with no issues. Wife can't even tell the difference and still enjoyed the ride along with me.

I think Davil had an interesting observation earlier re the black arch attachments for some geos. They do drop about just under an inch into the wheel well which does aid with the appearance of the wheel gap. Perhaps useful for some otherwise considering removing them.

Not quite as flamboyant as the chrome numbers fitted to the old CSL but a nice homage in keeping with the car's appearance. And yes, as pgtlw mentioned, they make the car look much lower. Bonus points for not stuffing up the magnificent handling. Also. Wow. That 3.0CSL. What a car. Surely one of the most beautiful vehicles ever made. The CS not a bad looker either though. |
