m2 CS roof pricing

Has anyone seen the recent hike in CS roof prices? It has quadruped in the last month.

I wonder if they've run out of supply? Not much hope for an insurance repair vs being totaled if the roof is impacted.

I am currently in the process of cutting out the roof from my totaled car and decided to check the price on it. I'm a bit more concerned now...

I'm beginning to think this carbon roof idea might not have been well thought out. Or maybe just not well executed.

So what I take from this is… strongly consider the extended warranty.

Haha WTF? If this is becoming a common issue BMW has to replace it even if our CS are out of warranty…

MSRP is 24 and it's going for 18. What was it before? Still hella pricy. I'd imagine if there's any accident going into the roof as well, it's gonna be a write-off anyways. Unless it's only roof damage from like an object falling on it, etc.

Wow 😲 yeah probably running low on inventory. Just like the mpe on the E92. It's back up to like 4500 and used to be 2500 a few years ago if I remember correctly. Wanted to get one but settled for a X pipe for now

You could probably convert it back to normal roof bows and the M Performance cosmetic carbon roof if you wanted though.

True, but who wants that. God forbid if I ever total my CS and walk away, I'll probably either source another one or just call it time and move on. Luckily the US got a good chunk of allocations. Or a very slim chance maybe go for a g87cs. I will hold judgement until I see/drive one in person. The regular g87 didn't do much for me, however

Oh, I agree, but it's probably better than paying $21k minus labor, lol.

You could also just do a carbon wrap. It wouldn’t change the structural integrity and the real deal would be underneath. No good on resale but I’d be content with it for aesthetics on my own car if it was a keeper.
