does your trunk lid poooooooo?

Finally got around to looking into this issue. Appears the trunk is discharging crap onto the rear bumper. Not happy with it and just finally got around to looking into it. I had another M2 and never had this issue.

I ended up using adhesive remover to get it all removed. Ill need to go back and do more detailing...

But what is more concerning is where it appears to be coming from. The little weep hole above the latch. First I thought it might be the latch, but the same material is/was around the weep hole.

I can take the lid apart and see what is under there that is weeping.

Just wondered if anyone else has seen this issue.

It’s likely cosmoline, which is applied at the factory. It melts out in the heat and attracts dirt.

allinon72 Interesting, thanks. That may just be it, it's hot here in Atlanta.

Wonder if the Orange vs the Blue makes a difference, or they were just very aggressive with the amount the day the M2 was made.

Hope its done messing up the rear of the M2.

Strange that so much is running out, but normal that some of it is. You will see this in the engine bay/hood area near holes as well.

My 235 did the same thing. Thought about plugging it, but afraid of water build up. So, I just made it part of my washing routine. I put some APC on a rolled up shop towel and wiggle it around up there. I keep my BSM really clean and this was certainly a sore point for me.

I thought I was the only one dealing with this issue. Hmm. Mine builds up in the same spot too.
