You guys try Tischer BMW? They are also geared for the enthusiast.

Go to realoem.com if you're not sure about a part number. Very easy to navigate through. Copy and paste any part number for a huge variety of BMWs'.

They are great.

Called Brian at Sun Motors and he quoted me significantly lower than any place I've found online for M Performance Coilovers. Super nice and patient guy too.

Blunttech 100% of the time.

Been buying parts for more than a decade. Been a Blunttech customer for 6 years. Definitely cheapest.

Bumping this, I just placed an order from Sun Motors, Brian was out but still got a cheaper price than I've seen anywhere else and free shipping.

You guys don't use that app? It searches 30 odd dealers and some euro ones. Prices vary best price is normally between 4 places.

That's who I have always used too - typically a nice discount from them.

I have found a number of uk dealers have ebay shops, selling over ordered or cancelled ordered. I have bought some amazing deals. Example brand new Carbon steering wheel trim £175, deal price £299.

Just called Brian; couldn't have said it better.

He's a whole other level, best parts buying experience of my life!

Number one for price and number one +++ for service. Tell him I sent you!

It's good to know that there are choices.

Dealer's are all over the map when it comes to parts sales. A couple of years ago I discussed online parts discounts with one of the parts guys at my dealership and he said they do not price match and don't cater to that market. I haven't bought anything more expensive than license plate screws from them as a result, but then I haven't asked again so I can't say that their policy hasn't changed.

On the other hand, shortly after getting my (used) 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo last spring, I had some things I was going to order for it, including a couple of spare keys (as I only got one with the car), I mentioned online discounts to the parts guy at the Porsche dealer, and ever since he has offered comparable discounts to me on anything I've asked about. Discounts on BMW parts are way easier to get than on Porsche parts. It seems as if about half of the BMW dealers in the US have an online presence or at least go after the online parts market. There are hardly any Porsche dealers who bother with this.

I found that their prices were pretty good, but the shipping more or less killed the deal for me. Also, you don't appear to be able to contact them except through their website email form. This means that if you have a question about a part being a good one for your application, then you have to send them an email and wait for a response.

I can understand why they would do this, as staffing phone lines is a distraction and costs a lot from the standpoint of labor. I also understand that "free shipping" is only free to the buyer and not to the seller. As a businessperson myself, I know that we don't do what we do for our health, we are in business to make a profit.

If you live in the vicinity of a particular dealer or parts supplier, that can be a factor to consider also. I'd happily pay the sales tax if I could call up a friendly voice that I knew (or just drop by) and get advice and pick up my well-priced goods right there.

This is not the only example of this sort of conundrum that one may have in buying goods that can be bought from multiple sources. Some people won't shop at Walmart for a whole lot of reasons, including the fact that the chain has put out of business a lot of local merchants and they don't want to see their own mom and pop stores go out of business, so they will just pay more to satisfy that requirement. Others avoid Amazon and Costco for the same reasons.

In the end, some people will consider forum sponsorship to be a strong reason to buy from a given merchant, and others will have their own reasons for going elsewhere.

Yep. Chris always gave me prices shipped. And no tax. And the prices were lower than I found listed anywhere. And he bent over backwards with service. Can't help but give home a shout out whenever I can!
