I don't think "firearm" is an ATF classification. Rife, pistol, SBR, AOW, machine gun.....those are atf classifications.

I'm 95% sure the shockwave is classified by the ATF as an AOW (any other weapon).

Lucky for us, the ATF has clarified this one too! See my earlier post about the ATF ruling on pistol braces as well. But you're right, it's confusing and could probably be brought against you if they really really want to.

I love my S&W MP15 22.

I bought it years ago not too long after I had bought the S&W MP15. At that time it was cheaper to shoot it more often than the other.

My brother is a Deputy Sheriff and we have known the guy that owns the range that most of the LEO in our county shoot at forever.

I have spent many days there getting to try out all kind of things without ever having to pull out any of the stuff I had brought.

Glad your enjoying it, on that range trying out other stuff I gather your MP 15 is hardly used then. Geco rim fire cartridges are an absolute must for these.

I bought a MP15 sport 5.56 when they first came out, primarily for the wife to use while I used my Colt A2 HBAR. It was the first generation with the 5R rifling and melonited barrel. I put an Aimpoint PRO on it and switched out the stock for a short ACE stock. I use it a lot more then she does and the S&W always comes to the range when I head out with friends. My Colt often stays in the safe. MP is a great truck carbine.

MP’s are moderately priced and very well made AR’s. The Sports were even less expensive , not sure what they sell for now and it’s been flawless. I don’t necessarily need a forward assist or dust cover.

Like I said....alot of the ATF stuff is really sketchy on how they interpret stuff and classify it.

Look at pistol braces. First they were legal, then they were only legal if you didn't shoulder them, now they are back to being legal if you shoulder them.....they can change the laws as they see fit.

Either way.....if it was me, I would just shoot it....and not post pictures online of it.
The Shockwave is classified as a "firearm" with a minimum overall length of 26.5". The birds eye grip on the Shockwave and Tac-13 meet that required length. If I were to add only a pistol grip, it would fall under the minimum length requirement and become classified as an AOW and require a stamp. By adding the brace it still maintains the minimum length to remain classified as a firearm.

I already owned a Baretta APX Centurion so I opted for a G17 Gen5 MOS and have had no regrets.

Personally, I picked up a 19 because the 17 was just unnecessarily large to me. Here's what it looks like, center console for size reference

(Don't worry, I don't ever keep this in here. I literally only placed it for the photo because it's a familiar frame of reference for everyone on this board)

The APX seems to be a bit stubby, how are the results v/s to Glock?

I haven’t shot the G17 enough to say but it’s a bit softer than the APX.

Black aces tactical had an issue with the atf on a few guns, seems that the issue was not the brace but the fact that theirs folded thus making it less then 26.

Anyone got some extended Glock mag suggestions?

I have Taran mags, but I seen some videos of that dude being a creeper, so I would rather have other stuff. I know about Hive. Any others?
