Found a secret 12V socket under the glovebox...
I did not know I had a third 12V socket in the cabin! Excellent placement, but I would never have found it if I would not have installed the Awron display today. (Required removing the panel that holds the 12V socket) MR |

Yeah noticed mine when they were removing panels to hide some wiring for my dash cam under there, could be quite handy for people not wanting to hard wire equipment but keep the wires out of sight.

That's an option.
I had this in my M235i and I ticked the box on the M2 option list. "12V power sockets An additional 12V power socket is located in the front passenger footwell. With the corresponding adapters, items such as external navigation devices, music players, mobile telephones, flash lights and coolers can be charged or powered."

Usually the usb in the glovebox is supposed to be exclusively for updating iDrive. I remember on my e92 335 it had that usb in there as well uncovered and they said charging stuff through it can damage the outlet.

Interesting, I just went and checked my 328i and it has the socket under the glove box too. My wife is out and about in the X6 or I would check it too but I'm guessing it also has one. Didn't see a USB in the glove box though.

BTW, all U.S. have the "smokers package" its on the list of standard equipment. Nice to have that additional power source. When I saw the smokers package on the list I thought it was a silly standard option these days but turns out there are some benefits.
