US April Allocations?

I had a not so good experience with local dealer here in MA. Sunday I walked into the dealer expecting them to have atleast 10-15 people on their wait list. They told me there were only 4 people already on the list and that I would be #5 out of the 5 allocations. So I immediately jumped on the opportunity and put my name down, started the paper work, and put a deposit down. Ended up in the order bank like everyone else.

I called the dealer Monday afternoon to ask a couple questions, and the SA then told me that I was now between #8-10 and that they didn't know in fact which spot I was. Ended up in a heated conversation with the SA so I spoke with the Pre Owned SM since the New Car SM was busy. Cleared everything up and mentioned the SA was not informed properly and that not everyone was up to speed on the M2's because its apparently a "new process". (Havent they dealt with this stuff before with other new car releases?) Long story short, I am now #10 on their waiting list which is unfortunate since it looks like I will most likely end up with a car sometime in 2017.

Typical. Dealers use vendors to dump their inventory onto web sites. I doubt there's any hurry to remove a hot item while the phone is ringing.

BMW Gallery in Norwood. I feel like I cant blame the SA since they probably have not all been trained properly for this vehicle. But why allow them to work with someone on a vehicle they know nothing about?

I am hearing the opposite. It seems they have given out the April and May allocations, which are May/June build weeks respectively.

There is a forum member that works at BMW and posted the info from BMW internal website that states this. My CA is telling me the exact same. He said I might get one June at the earliest, which would be July build MY2017.

I am first on the list as well. For well over 6 months.

This is correct. If you don't have one now, barring divine intervention, you'll be getting a MY17.

My Ca says he has no idea why BMW has not send out allocations. He was told by BMW NA that By Feb the allocations would be out but all they got was a HEA. He said that he's never seen a roll out of allocations like this and points to BMW probably wanting My2017 to be true set of allocations bc of servicing change
