You'll surely be able to get these cars under msrp after a few months
+1

As sad it is to see, there will be people paying that $10k premium especially in California in the first wave of these cars

My recommendation to people looking for MSRP prices is to go to the smaller dealerships. They tend to be more personable in hopes of building a relationship, where as the bigger dealerships already know they move enough volume so don't really need you.. That's just my guess on the logic.

Got mine on deposit at MSRP.

Highly doubt you will get it for UNDER MSRP in a few months. Guessing it will be at least a year, if not more.

Who knows
Usually the first batch of allocations are over msrp, if anyone will even pay them

To be selling this car over msrp is ridiculous
Especially on a non limited model

Having driven the M2 I would not pay a dollar over MSRP. I know the M3/4 are different but for 10k+ MSRP I would step into one of the bigger vehicles.

Sure you will.

I think people have blown the M2 way out of proportion. It's a production vehicle, BMW will make as many as they need to. It's nothing like the 1M.

You'll get it for under MSRP within the year, likely 6m from now once the first wave is sold and it's no longer exclusive.

My dealer (BMW of Cincinnati) is taking orders at MSRP. They're sold out into the order bank for at least a year though.

not likely, the people ive spoken to at NA are projecting the first year will be sold out. not many allocations are going to be given out in the fisrt 6 months. probably 3-5 pending size of dealership.

I'm not confirming this by any means, but let's just say there is a very, very, very, very strong possibility first year is already sold out.

BMW of Sudbury in MA (larger dealership) is doing Msrp and a $2k deposit to secure your allocation.

Just wait a bit until that pent up initial demand is satisfied. It's the same story release after release folks, nothing new here.

As long as the production of the M2 does not meet demand , ( i.e. Limited availability, not limited production) Most prospective buyers will simply be assimilated to the M3/M4 " Borg "

Many many will buy M4
Many many will buy M3
Many will buy M235
Some will jump ship and buy Cayman

Few will get an M2- and they will love it !

The beauty of the Internet is you don't have to buy your car from your hometown. Try Los Angeles we have great dealers. We have our share of bad too, but there's no monopoly of BMW dealers out here. I prefer the BMW dealership in Pasadena, just saying.

NO M2 for you

What's the big deal. It's supply and demand. This is a profit driven industry just like every other business. This just weeds out all looky-loos and attracts the real M2 customers. If you're complaining about the money, just remember, this is considered a "luxury" level brand. You get what you pay for... so no M2 for you

In this case I don't think we are getting what we pay for. We are getting less. Especially above MSRP. Even MSRP is starting to make me think twice. I've never just "given away" money like that. There are other car options and this isn't the best car ever made. If it turns out to be the best car of all time...there is always next year and the year after when it can be purchased for less than MSRP.
