Depends on how long are your legs I guess and on your seating position as well I guess. I always extend it the most it can.

Pretty sure a manual will be offered... the uncertainty is whether it'll be a ZF8 or DCT. After the info in this thread, DCT seems to be the one.

They're not truly one-piece seats (think: fixed back). They really just have integrated headrests. So, they have most of the adjustability as your run-of-the-mill sport seats with the exception of the thigh extender and adjustable headrest. They do, however, have much more aggressive bolsters.

I have decided that the Boxster S is out - it will either be a Cayman S, F80, or M2 for me. I just want to see the damn thing - my imagination sucks!

They seem to "help" me the most on longer trips, where my knees might tend to get a little stiffer if the extension isn't deployed - I hadn't realized until just now that the F80 didn't have them.

Other way around... There is no reason to install a seat in the vehicle for testing that is not going to be something that is possible for use later.... IN other words... why would they install a seat that they know that they will NOT put in the vehicle when the install of that item can affect the driver's feedback ? As another data point.. Preproduction models of the 1M DID have the actual 1M seats in them.. with the correct color stitching.. Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 06-23-2015 at 01:07 PM.. |

You are quite right - I am hoping that since the DFW area has lots of BMW dealers that it will increase my odds of seeing one in person as early as possible - which will be a small victory.

I have been thinking about this - even if it really isn't lighter or the difference is negligible, I am not sure it will matter much. It should feel lighter on its feet because of the wider tires and better suspension, and the uptick in power won't hurt either.
But I too am curious to know what it weighs.

I can't wait until the reviewers get their hands on one. At least that'll be entertaining. Begging for spy shots and videos is way worse

However, should it be hard to get, I've got all my bases covered as I'm #3 at my dealership.

Well, if the blue stitching on a proper colored car doesn't offend the test driver, it wouldn't offend me either. Please Add.
Question for BMW...Why does Mini get most of the good colors? (Red/orange on the countryman, 4 blues that resemble Laguna Seca, A few decent yellows, Purple Haze) ????? "If vee paint ze cars in fun colors, maybe zay von't notice how badly ze cars are built" |

Where do you live in the area. We rented a home about 3 miles from the track towards Salinas. I forgot the name of the street, but I took a turn about 2 miles from the track and then drove another mile up the hills. Really nice area. Far enough away from the ocean to avoid some of the fog, but not too far inland to stay cool. I could see myself retiring down there and hit the track every couple of weeks |
