I am beginning to feel bad that I seem to be following your threads like a lemming... lol. I appreciate your dedication and always providing incite and (as valid as possible) information. That said, I love my current M3, I really do. Though proportionally, I just see the potential for the M2 to be our generations omnipotent. And with any luck, (and hopefully some of our input) BMW follows the yellow brick road, and knocks it out of the park.

Exactly what I've heard will be the case. But your car is the envy of so many and the reason why the M2 will live up to enthusiast expectations!!

Definitely add. As much as I love the e46, I learned my lesson trading down last time. Now the M2 may have enough potential to be a replacement for my e92. Ultimately, I'd like to have both. Time will tell.
The anticipation is frustrating and intoxicating at the same time. I do get a little buzz from every update. |

Looks good....glad they got rid of the severe tapper on the lower portion of the rear bumper on earlier spy shots and filled it with more muscular shaped one.

Is there a point to the M4 with this gem coming along shortly?
Not that there is any issue with the M4, but just look at that. This car is fantastic! May also be slightly biased given I drive a 1-series. |

The 4 series also outsells the 2 series 5:1. I've mentioned it before, the M2 will be a very niche car, just like the 2 series is. At some point 2 series may become more common as people move toward the smaller car trend. At this point, however, the car with more room and sleeker looks wins. Depending on how BMW prices the M2, I don't predict that they will sell too many of them (relative to M3's and M4's). |

Before the Cayman GT4 announcement my money was on the M2 for my track use but not anymore. Still I will wait for the official unveiling before I make my final judgment.

I am with you... but the Cayman GT4 is also $30k more base price (guessing a bit here). So if the M2 is 90% of the Cayman for 60% of the price ... I would swing M2. Or wait a year or two and pick up a used GT4...

The ///M2 I think will be a definite notch up from the 1M in terms of numbers. The electric steering is worrying me a bit I won't lie. I love the analogue stuff.
As for selling a Barney e36 ///M3. I told you before in one of my first posts to the forum, don't sell that car. |

M2 over M4 any day in terms of looks. If need practicality, then M3.
M2 is shaping up well. Only disappointment will again be the engine. As for M2 vs. GT4 no comparison. One is a souped up family hatch, the other is a true sports car. |
