You seemed to not get the changes with V5.8. Re-download the map and log again.

The drivability and top end of Stg 2 5.8 is so much better than 5.7 that I’ve opted to run OTS Stg 2 93 & E30 5.8 vs my Stg 2H 5.7 maps that had a little more peak power.

Would be great if we could select which turbo we had in the map configs and it would up the boost accordingly, but I know that’s getting into custom tune territory.

Can you explain why you think that? BM3 has always said that it flashed properly and I don't see anything saying it didn't flash properly. Maybe there is some clue you see that I don't?

Now that it's the cooler day of the year, would like to see a proper STG2 93OCT log. Anyone please?

If possible could someone please cast their eye over the attached logs? N55 Stage 2 E30. Ambient temp was 32c (90f) in the middle of the day, so hot intake temps off a scorching surface.

HPFP seems to be feeling it, but I'm not sure if that's normal of should be of concern.

Timing seems very different to the 93 tune (albeit my log with 93 was completd in about 15 degrees Celsius) but consistent across cylinders so I'm not sure if that's of concern.

Thank you heaps in advance!!

The pulls are very solid. And I can only imagine it runs even cleaner as DME adapts.

Have fun!

How long does it usually take for DME to adapt? About 100 miles? I've been flashing the car a decent amount to fine tune my burble settings before 100 miles so DME hasn't had time to readapt. I hope the DME can take multiple flashes in short periods of time without stress.

A couple WOT pulls (in gear and dct kickdown) would do it pretty much. More miles in traffic are not for engine but transmission adaptation.

As for burble, the adjustment bar has been a hit and miss. It'd be cautious playing with it.

I came to realize with the help of NathObeaN that sport burble setting doesn't do anything and sport+ affects both sport and sport+. As for the duration sport affects comfort while sport + affects all modes with sport/sport+ being the same.

A buddy of mine with F80 M3 confirms that for his car too.

I getting ready to bump from STG1 93 to STG2 93. Can I flash it and immediately log or should I let the DME adapt? 3rd gear from 2k-redline? Sorry I’m such a novice.

There is no better way of DME adapting than logging WOT pulls. 2~3 full in gear logs will be good.

4th gear is more indicative than lower gears, especially at top end because the boost behavior is a bit different there. Also the engine will be stressed more holding high load for longer.

These days, logging BM3 OTS is really testing the octane. My observation is that the V5.8 gets more changes (for the good) than a lowered boost target. But my purpose for reviewing datalog is to know how far the V5.8 pushes with cool ambient temp when boost cap is much less of a limit to the torque.

I got you, Sean.

Ambient ~26F

http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5e179d34c090c660d027d69b

My observations:
Seems my HPFP isn't hitting target now, was fine in summer
Coolant temp is 20+ degrees hotter than summer
Timing is a bit more stable across cylinders compared to summer
MAF lb/min is higher compared to summer. So making quite a bit more power. I think 20-50hp more if we assume 1lb/min=10hp
