Hi All,
I've noticed a problem (albeit small) with what's been a great first 6 months with the car. If the cars stop/start engages, then I drop the clutch, put in to gear but don't immediately start lifting my foot off the clutch - the car seems to drop revs and then stall. It immediately starts the engine again but it's really strange, threw me off at first but now I can replicate the issue on demand. Usually happens at traffic lights if I don't move off immediately after dropping the clutch in stop/start. Maybe easier to film the issue rather than try and explain! Obviously I can just disable stop/start but that's not the point. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something I'm doing wrong?? |

Could it be that its starting up when you clutch in, but then since you're not actually moving it thinks "Oh, we're just sitting here, better turn the engine off again?"
I've never had an issue with the start stop, but when I use it, I clutch in to go while shifting into first, the engine starts and then i immediately start release the clutch. (and then it works fine) |

I get that, but it does it when the clutch pedal is depressed? The stop part of auto stop start usually only kicks in when the car is in neutral and the clutch pedal is not depressed.

I have never enabled auto start/stop in my M2c. Been a 1+ year of ownership already.
I would disable it and leave it off. It does more harm to the vehicle than good.

I can kind of understand the Auto/Stop-Start feature on DCT spec'ed M2C's. With heavy emphasis on "kind of", because IMO, this sort of feature does not belong on a performance car.
Why I have that feature on my MT spec'ed M2C though......is beyond me. First time I drove it with it on (I didn't realize I even had it on), it also threw me off, because I thought I stalled the engine. |

Better you do leave the auto start/stop off in this climate before other motorist assume it a mass-shooter on the loose, upon every restart.. |
