Why does everybody have the same pictures? What's up with that?

Because the journalists didn't bring along a camera crew.

I wouldn't say the Camaro is a lot heavier than the M2, it is heavier but depending on spec the two can be within 145lbs of each other..

Possibly because it's not a race car despite what BMW marketing espouses. There's also no harness, roll cage etc. Also imagine the logistics of producing 1 model on a production line with different brake fluid, dealer logistics etc. probably not worth it. Easier for you to drain and refill.

It's a great sports car for public streets. And is a good base to be taken to the next level.

But no one says M2 competition has more weight 55kg on front , more CO2 emision , more fuel consumption , ugly wheels and front grill, discontinued color mineral grey metallic ,bad exhaust sound, and seats + big brakes is optional - extra cost.

Lots of praise for the M2C! I'm selfishly more interested to see comparisons against the OG M2 from people driving both back to back. I can't imagine most auto journalists could really make an accurate comparison from memory (given that it's been 3 years for some).

This is the decision most owners who love their M2 need to make. Thanks to MR for bringing one perspective, but hope to hear from others.

If tuning and weight are the only downsides... then tune, downpipes and titanium exhaust + carbon fiber hood and trunk, lighter wheels and carbon ceramic rotors will make it the best all around M car of ours times, without exception or argument.

Tuning potential doesn't make a classic. Classics are made in stock form...

Ummm no.... you can tune literally anything to make it faster, lighter etc. That's not what makes a true classic ///M car. It needs to be stout off the factory floor for that to be the case not butchering it into yet another tuner parts bin special that seems to be the norm in the M2 community

We have differing views. I don't enjoy owning stock cars. And the ones I would enjoy I can't afford. I don't want my car to be exactly like every other one out there - so the above tweaks make sense for me.

The M4 GTS tune will be perfect for this.

You know why?

Because the weight wasn't felt during all the reviews..

Nobody cares about emissions, half of us here are already planning modifying full exhaust..

Fuel consumption? You want MPGs go get an electric car, I have never worried about MPGs on a sports car.

Wheels, Grill are not ugly.. it's all subjective.. you don't like it? Other people do..

I never cared about Mineral Gray..

Better seats and big brakes come standard in USA..

This is most definitely my next car, can't wait to see what numbers people are getting with dp and tune.

Looks like the major respected publications are giving it glowing reviews.

EVO, AutoExpress, and AutoCar all gave it 4.5 or 5 stars.

Its already a classic.

Upgraded heat exchanger, downpipes and tune and you are in the 500whp range.

The M2C could go down as one of the greatest M cars in a generation. I doubt they will produce this car for long. Better get that order in!
