THIS WILL BE MINE! OH YES, THIS WILL BE MINE!!!!
BMW just needs to keep in mind what they did with the 1M and why it was such a great car. They need to put this porky little car on a diet as well. 3500lbs is NOT going to cut it (M235i currently weighs 3,495lbs). Drop about 180lbs off the car and with the HP ratings they're figuring it would be a fantastic car. As far as M3/4 vs. M2 owners: I don't think it'll be cross shopped all that much. M3/4 has really become more luxurious and is aimed for a person who is really looking for an all around performance car (hence the hardtop convertible that weighs over 4000lbs). I say keep the M2 focused as a more track oriented, driver experience at all costs type of car (similar to 911TT vs. GT3). Who cares of the M2 is quicker around the track than the M3/4? I really don't think the average buyer is going to be worried about lap times. I see plenty of M3s out there that will NEVER see the track. TBH: Whenever I'm at the track it is far and few between that I even see an e9X M3!

Question:
Idea on price range (usd)? Low $50s? Mid $50s? High $50s? Over $50? Single or twin turbo??

This thing has more than likely just started testing, so the body and front end will look much cleaner and more "BMW M" when they're finished. IMHO: I think the new Mustang looks like a Honda Accord Coupe if it were RWD

This is a great example. The production 1M had more flourishes (vents and such), but this was a great predictor of the general shape of the production 1M. I'm just expressing my opinion that I'd prefer they go in a more refined direction. I'm not writing the car off. Geeze.

Unless it comes out with the LCI 2er, you're going to see HUD on the M2. HUD requires a completely different dash not to mention different magnesium dash carrier too.

The camo makes it hard to see the details, but I'm sure the end result will be promising.
