The total package isn't enough to sway me. Maybe if it was manual. Otherwise, I really dislike the blue seat inserts, wheels, taillights and digital gauges. Quickfit harnesses won't work on the new seats either.

The M2 just looks better in these pics IMO. It would not sway me to change cars either! I hear you on the manual, I've made that mistake in the past too!

I've seen many occasions where the Quickfit harnesses are not permitted by tech inspect for these cars. The F-Series cars and seats (including the M2) are not certified for their use.

Weighing the financial cost of upgrading vs the potential of a better-sounding S58 and individual-eligible (extended Merino leather option??) for next-gen convinced me to hold on to the current model.

Difficult to make a real opinion based just on cosmetics if you have not driven it ...
The biggest change is the engine revving higher and also the reduced turbo lag. That being said financially I guess it's not worth as you own already a M2 (unless you have cash falling from the sky) |

I actually prefer the front bumper of the original. I keep hearing turbo lag being mentioned as if it's a huge problem but it's so minimal that the M2 almost feels like naturally aspirated... having said that, it's a super easy fix with a high flow or catless downpipe which frees up more power, makes a kickass exhaust note even better, and improves turbo. Definitely keeping my M2 until the next generation which hopefully has the S58 or a GT4/GT3.

OP, I would make exactly the same choice as you, were I in your shoes. Given that you've already modded, and you're already driving an awesome car, why take such a big financial hit for small changes, unless, as Snoopy92 says above "you have cash falling from the sky" (which, it sounds like some board members do!) Honestly, all of you who have M2's are so lucky to be in a position to have to decide whether to upgrade or not. It means that you've already been driving a truly awesome car, and have to decide whether or not to buy a newer, slightly different awesome car! Schmucks like me didn't even know about the M2 until very recently (I've been living under a rock), and so have been deprived of the driving experience all this time! |

I'd ask the dealer to swap wheels at delivery. They're not gonna refuse a trade with new wheels and tires. That's what I was going to do. He didn't even argue. Heh.

I'm glad you've finally discovered the M2. Maybe you should change your name to captain not so obvious.

I'd love to get the 763 wheels, but, there should be some price offset if I'm giving them back brand new wheels....did they do that for you?

I like your thinking... I would have done the same if my M2 was still in my garage. It would have saved me the difference price I could have used for all the mods making my M2 a better car.
Pity I found out too late that the differences are too small to get a whole new car. It is what it is... Now let's throw money at the M2C. MR |

Glad you were able to decide finally!
It's always going to be a personal decision. Could be aesthetics like you described. For others it will just not make sense financially. For others like me I won't even need to see or drive the car to want the new power plant because I do plan to mod it. I traded mine without even seeing the car and all the numbers worked perfectly.
