I think this is a universal BMW thing. I was baffled as to how I was picking up under-bumper scratches since I never park anywhere near a concrete parking stop, and the front bumpers of our other cars are all scratch-free.
I finally found that the geometry of a dip in the roadway at a parking lot entrance is enough to scratch the bumper if I keep to the right while exiting to avoid a car entering at the same time. And my current BMW is a station wagon. An M2 should be even more fun!

Just happened after my track day today. I was very focused when I ran the track. Then I left the track and I relaxed, went across a slope too fast. Fortunately, I can't see it from the front, but I just bought a car for a month and it hurts.

I scraped a rear wheel within a couple of weeks of ownership. When I went to get the wheel repaired, I noticed a minor paint chip on the front fender
Oh well, it sucks but what are you gonna do... |

I think the best you can do at home is Dr ColorChip. Otherwise it would be bumper respray. Or just live with it since it could happen again.

Curb warning device
I have one I think from Brandmotion. Cost about $130. It gives a loud beep when you are within a settable distance from objects. Its can misread; it isn't perfect. But usually lets you ease up until the beep, giving you enough time to gently stop before contact.

let's go to dinner?!? Ok, let's park @ this new hotel garage underground, I'm not letting the Ferris Bueller valet have fun with my new car…
It's only $10 bucks and a few min walk to the restaurant Problem was the "spiral" going down, curb edging I couldn't see well, was going grandpa speed ⚠️ but still ultimately scraped passenger wheel(s) 🤦*♂️ The steak was cooked perfectly tho… creamed spinach I could eat all week without getting tired I think when your being extremely careful you F up, it's that simple |
