Update to this thread a bit as I installed my exhaust and catless DP along with the mini cat last night. On my way home from work and just got a check engine light on. Sooo.... At the shop now figuring what codes are thrown and how to fix the issue.

I just left everything the way it was, haven't seen a CEL or limp mode in a couple hundred miles.

I got P0420 a while back, but then after that everything was great. Right up until the limp mode thing happened. Now it's good again.

SO would you recommend it? Also which mini cat did you get the straight or 90 deg? Any pics of it installed? Thanks. Possibly looking to go this direction.

If I could go back and do it all over, I wouldn't put the downpipe on. But the sound is so intoxicating, I just can't bring myself to remove it. I don't think they make a 90° mini cat, that would only be a spacer. I don't trust spacers as well as I do the mini cat. Being that I've modified several vehicles in the past, I've never been able to make a spacer work. This is my first experience with a mini cat, but I'm actually impressed with how well it works, even though it's not perfect.

I don't smell it in the cab, only if I'm outside the car and it's parked indoors like a parking garage or my house garage or something.

If installed correctly and get yourself quality downpipe, you wont smeel inside the car. It will only be noticeable on cold start if car has been on idle for a while

LOL, I hear ya. It sounds great. Yeah I noticed that only the mini cat is straight. There wasn't an issue with space and getting it to fit? Have you had any other issues since that one time? What did you do to clear the codes or did they clear themselves?

There is no clearance issues, you'll have plenty of space.

If you get a CEL, you have to clear it, you can go with a cheap OBDII scanner. If you get a Drivetrain Malfunction (LIMP MODE), it goes away after you turn off the car. Honestly the limp mode is so much worse than a CEL.

**EDIT** This is the first car I've ever heard of that goes into limp mode for being catless...any normal vehicle would just get a CEL that could be avoided with a mini cat.

Thanks for the info. Has it happened again? Or just that one time?

The CEL happened once way back after 300 miles, and the limp mode happened 4 times, each time happened between 1,000 miles and 1,500 miles. I now have 2,000 miles with this set up.

I'm about 200 miles in now with my DP dinan exhaust and mini cat. Last night my mechanic cleared the codes/check engine light and so far nothing's come back up. I also never experienced any kind of limp mode or loss of power.

Like above this thing sounds so damn mean I can't see myself taking the DP off

In theory it sounds great, but in reality it seems to have its flaws. I was not planning on getting a DP just yet so I have some time to think about it.

I don't think there's an issue if you have a tune attached to it. Haven't heard anyone with a tune have a problem with any of the DPs available.
