BMW knobs are all pull-off non threaded, so you need the non threaded adaptor and choose BMW from the list. https://www.raceseng.com/non-threade...er-arm-adapter |

Uhh its the wires next to it there is even a plastic part in between the two wires so I dont wanna cut into it even though I tried with a razor lol. A drill bit would probably work better, but I didn't try it. I already snapped the two black bits from the shift knob though so it doesn't sit right anymore. View post on imgur.com |

So you have the illuminated Mperformance shifter??
If you want to snap the knob off the gaiter then just cut the wires. The knob doesn't unclip or detach, you have to break it off. I tapped a trim removal wedge between the knob base and the gaiter top until it snapped off. It should be a clean break so you can super glue it back on if you need to. The ring in you picture has to remain in place, i just opened up the centre hole so it fitted over the raceseng adaptor post. Others may have different approaches... |

OK, in that case you'll have to buy the OE shift knob and gaiter and use that gaiter.
It seems to have disappeared from REALOEM at the moment for some reason?? |

Its heavier than my blue Ashiko, but most importantly its higher and the shape is better suited to my shifting styles. With my right elbow resting on the armrest it falls right into my right hand.
At 1.8 lbs its awesome with the AS SSK.

Read this thread multiple times, as well as the other one in the M2C section (albeit this thread is in the S55 section). So much great information and reviews, that I've placed an order with Ronald with the following specs:
Like others have mentioned, Ronald was very responsive and provided great information. I let him know that the M2 is my only car, living in Toronto Canada, doing maybe 3-4 track days a year, and he suggested without a doubt to stick with the 80a+ bushings. I challenged a bit saying that I likely wouldn't mind the slightly increased NVH of the 80a, and whether he could provide insight on pros and cons of 80a vs 80a+. He flat out said the following: Quote:
He doesn't have any shifters with my configuration in stock, so he'll likely be shipping out end of the month. Just contemplating on whether I should do the CDV delete or not. |

I plan on CDV delete while doing the swap. I've done that to every MT BMW I've owned as it makes a big difference in engagement feel and consistency. |

That's another data point for me to consider the CDV delete as well. I take it you (and others) have purchased the clutch slave cylinder with PN 21526785964? ECS has it for about $85. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/21526785964/ |

Finally installed my new shifter from Auto Solutions with 25% reduction on my M2C and wow what an upgrade this is over stock. The only thing missing now is a weighted shift knob and call it a day. Makes driving this car that much more enjoyable and precise

I have a Translucent Blue Ashiko knob F/S. I decided to go with a different shape and height.
PM me if interested

Thanks ended up going with the scepter translucent copper color to match the orange stitching of the interior. Just wish they had the R-lock for bimmers

At least that's how I understand it. On the e46 M3 you could just remove the CDV restrictor and install a blank from Zeckenhausen, but it looks like BMW's changed things up a bit. R. |
