1) Don't credit Motor Trend or .
2) Place Bimmerpost logo as if picture is your own. 3) Stay classy.

I like seeing the finned dif from the rear on the M2, among other things.
I can't look at it and not think "modern e36" which is a good thing.

M4 is much more sleek and elegant. M2 looks more like a bruiser. If the M2 was available when i was ready to purchase i'd have a difficult decision. For $52,000 the M2 is a hell of a car. Makes the M235i irrelevant for anyone that would even consider tracking the cars.
The smaller vs. bigger car issue isn't really a factor for me since they are both kind of large. I have a sub 3000 pound sports car for when I need something light, agile, and raw. The fact that the M2 weighs within a hundred pounds of the M4 makes the size a strictly cosmetic thing. I'm sure the longer wheel base makes the M4 better at high speeds while the M2 is probably a bit more agile. It's hard for me to see even a well tuned N55 matching the S55. S55 does not feel in any way related the N55. I know there was lots of debate on the F8X forums about whether or not BMW retuned the exhaust of the F8X for 2016. It sure sounds like it to me...the exhaust on mine sounds great. Can't go wrong with either, both good looking cars, with loads of performance. |

Saw the M2 at the autoshow in person along with 9 others (my car buddy group). We all thought the M2 wasn't attractive. Front end is nice, the side is average, and the rear is just plain ugly. It was a LBB model. Contrary to what others have said, in person it's not nice. The 1M looked much better for it's time than the M2 does now and the 1M wasn't exactly well received either.
Difference in weight between an M4 and M2 is 80lbs apples to apples (manual transmissions). Previous gen 1M and M3 had a difference of over 300lbs. There's no point in buying the current M2 unless you want to save on dough. A quick swap of sway bars, AD08Rs/RE71Rs, and springs and the car will feel more agile than an M2. Or just buy the competition package on the M3/M4. If you're stuck on deciding between the two models upgrade to the M3/M4. It's the way to go, you won't look back. |

Can`t go wrong on either, it al personal preference, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I do like the more square setup of the M2, I used to own also the 1M with had also the boxy look, the bulldog look as some say, it does look more aggressive IMO. THe M4 is stretched, sleeker, more flowing, so more elegant, but than again lacks the brutality of the M2. Just pick your poison I picked the M2 |
