Has anyone heard about poor brake performance, in general, on the M2C? From day one, even the least offensive spirited driving and I lose the brake pedal in the first 5 minutes. If I stab once (pump) and get back on them, then OK. But without the pump, VERY long brake travel and a bit mush. When stationary, if I "pump up" the brakes then hold the pedal, it will in short order drift to the floor under pressure. No leaks or spatters anywhere, so thinking I might have an air-in-the-lines/bleed issue? I figured with 32" of rotors and 12 pistons up front they should feel a shit ton better than this.

Poor little Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires look like they want to be changed already! So soft. But good!
The Antares Leader has smaller anchors than the M2C definitely sounds like something worth popping around the dealer and/or having a tech ride shotgun on a spirited drive.
I've not experienced anything like that in my 2000 miles or so.

Quite possibly the finest quip I could have imagined! You're probably right. Break in service isn't too far off, so that will be a topic of discussion.

Also got solid confirmation that the AA EL Midpipe and axle-back valved muffler will be here the first week in Sept. Get the service done, then modify it!!

Finally picked mine LBB MT Exec.. no drama at dealership, they had me preapproved and all paper works loaded, spend around 15 mins and was out. And yes, they were not greedy and passed on the 0.9% 60 months. Smooth …. They also did the front bumper PPF install as I was worried about driving 2hrs on not so good roads to get back home.

Awesome experience..

Have heard no similar tales and something is DEFINITELY not right here, bad master cylinder maybe? Brake fluid not properly filled or bled at the factory? Get that puppy back to the dealer.

No issues here, even with track days. I do recommend switching to SRF brake fluid, its high temp capability will handle the hardest track days.
The switch out should cure any air in the lines too.

PS: Work on braking technique as well. Shorter harder stabs give more cool down time than easy long braking. Also you'll find you may not need as much braking on canyon roads as you think.

great experience. Make sure when in performance track, that you don't get stuck with a slowpoke non experienced person in front of you. Ask if you can wait til the other driver is done. You'll be glad you did.

Good call on technique. I autocrossed last Sunday, and they definitely worked ok. But there is definitly some fade to be sure. Dealer did the 1200 mile break in service last week and "could not duplicate". Fair enough. Where are you going to drive like that in an urban area anyhow??

I did bite the bullet and ordered Goodridge S/S brake lines, SRF fluid and Ferodo DS2500 pads. Going to have My Guys (Vt MotorWorks, Pleasanton, CA) do the work when they hang my AA EL midpipe and AA muffler, wheel spacers, reflector eliminators.

We shall see.

this email includes the (buried) link to your free one day performance driving school. you can book up to 12 months after the date that you take delivery of your car.

i may consider doing this with my son next spring (since my wife went with me to PCD). will probably apply the $849 credit and do the M school instead of the basic performance class.

I don't think I ever got this e-mail. How long after you purchased the car did it come through?

All I got was a half-day mini program, purchased Dec 2020. Paid to add the full day after, and there are good discounts w/ BMWCCA, think it was 10 or 15% off.

The full day BMW Performance driving school, aka Car Control Clinic, which is valued at $849 is free for "loyal" customers, which you get in that same email for your 2nd BMW purchase. I just did this class yesterday for "free". Do note that you can apply that credit to a higher level class, like the M school, which in hindsight I think I should have done. But after the class you get 20% off another class, so I think I have M school in my future anyways.
