The dyno is set to read with in 10hp of a dyno jet. It is a tuner dyno similar to dyno dynamics with lots of control for live tuning. Dynocom costs about 120k and dynojet costs about 40k to put it in perspective.

Is this why your on the M2 forum to tell us how great the M4 is? Apparently penis envy swings both ways, eh.

I'm quite surprised that the M2 took the ecu tune so easily as the M *35i have been notoriously difficult to do anything with hence why the JB4 has been so popular.360 whp...things are looking up |

Hey guys, just to clarify the black M2 is one of our employees personal vehicle. We took delivery of it Friday evening and took it straight to our shop for baseline and mild tune.
The car has less than 50 miles on it so we are not going to push it until later, so to be clear we know it's capable of making much more power. The car has no performance mods at this point. Car was dyno'd on our DynoCom AWD dyno. We have a lot in store. Make sure to follow our progress. |

Is that a stock vs. mild tune?
Looks much like a stock turbo N55 with the turbo maxing out. Again, no big deal. $900 Pure stage 1...

Edit, it looks like a standard N55 has the torque about 1000 rpms earlier at around 2500 rpms. Does this point to a larger turbo in the m2?

I'm not looking at the peak numbers. I'm looking at how the tuned hp and stock hp converge.
That's a sign that the turbo is maxing out. Typical N55 tuning. Gains in the mid range, but given the turbo size, the top end is simply limited. I will say, this seems to be holding onto power higher in the rev range by a good bit vs. a standard N55. Could very well be a slightly different turbo afterall.

M2, M3, M4, M5, or M6. Owners of these cars should feel blessed to even have these cars. You are the lucky few.
There are kids and adults out there who dream of having an M one day, and most never get one. Too much infighting and talking trash over numbers. There will always be a car better than yours out there. (Unless you have a Koenigsegg, 918, P1, or La Ferrari or some other rocket ship) The GT350 is a Mustang and about half the price than the GT4 I had, and with much cheaper interior components. But I will hold the car in reverence when I see it. M3 and M4 are great cars, and I am curious about dyno numbers like everyone else, but let the new M2 owners enjoy this moment. It's an exciting time for new owners who paid good money for their cars And M3816, love the Darth Vader look... |

I saw someone else asked for more pics. I will have M style carbon mirrors installed in a week (not the bmw performance) this should help the community and those that are upset because the m2 and 2 series and 3 series non M share the same mirror. We are working on down pipes and will have something up soon too! |
