That looks really nice all that alcantara stuff. I'll definitely consider it when I get my car this summer. All we need now is the member discount eh ?

Thanks for this, I meant that it would be cheaper to wrap only the cluster vs the entire dash. I wasn't trying to say that it's cheap and easy. It's neither. |

![]() Anyhow, I did some further investigation. The gauge cluster hood is not a separate piece that can be purchased, therefore I understand why bimmermasterpieces uses there own mold. I asked if they could use an OEM mold, but BMW only sells the entire front dash. The msrp of the whole from dash is 1211. And I don't think bimmermasterpieces is going to buy this piece just for the gauge cluster hood. I suppose they could sell front dashboards all wrapped in leather/alcantara too, but lots more work involved. |

Just asking again as my previous post appeared to be missed... Is there potential forum discount for members, I'm sure there would be a lot of interest and potential business? MJ |

The following post from this thread contains info on the install, from what I see it's a case of loosening the instrument cluster to fit the overhanging material behind for a clean install: Quote:

I'm curious as to how it installs - does it install OVER the factory gauge hood, or in replacement of the factory gauge hood? |

Unlike the 1M the instrument cluster "top" is not removable.. it's part of the dashboard (moulded).

Mine arrived this week, but only recently installed it:
![]() I bought the Alcantara CS as I wanted it as close to the 1M as possible. ![]() I took pics and made an install guide to help others out: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...3#post21692703 Thanks to BM, absolutely love it! ![]()
