Hey guys,
I’m new to the Bimmerpost community and recently bought a 2019 m2c. It came with the stock wheels and titan7 ts5 wheels. The tires on it are michelin pilot sport 245/30/19 front and 265/30/19 rear. My question is, I recently put on a bootmod3 stage 2, 91 OTS map. I’ve been reading the stock tire size won’t be able to accommodate the newly added HP gains and tires will just spin. What tire size will suffice to handle 500+ hp? Also id like to keep stock suspension and no suspension upgrades at the moment. I’ve been reading 255/35/19 front and 285/30/19 rear is the way too go and I won’t have any rubbing issues. Please comment on the anyone’s experience with reccomended sizes that won’t require mods to suspension and will be able to Handle the extra power for traction. Please and thanks! Wheel specs: Titan 7 TS5 -19x9.5 et 27 -19x10.5 et 44 |

OK, wow, just hold the phone.
1. Grip has more to do with the tire compound and pressure in the tire than it does with size; bigger is not always better. You will get NO MORE straight line traction with a 275/285 than you do with a 265. Wide tires are made for sideways grip, not forward grip. 2. On 9.5 & 10.5 you can run 245/35 & 265/35, or 255/35 & 275/35 (although this will give you no more grip and you're really just making the tire taller, which is making the ride more comfortable at the expense of response), or 265/30 & 285/295/30 (265 is the issue here, and will most likely rub if you drop the car). Some guys run the stock 245/35 up front because it runs WIDE, and a 295/30 in the rear for more grip, which you can do, but you're going to jack up the handling of the car. So handling is what you need to address first. Do you want to preserve the stock playfulness of the car, or are you after 0-60, ¼-mile, and roll-racing fun? YOU MUST CHOOSE, otherwise you won't get the best of either. From the picture it appears you have the stock PSS in 245/35 & 265/35. The front runs WIDE, and the rear a bit skinnier, which is why you have such a stretch. Do you drive in rain? Do you plan to track? Do you drive in the cold? How cold? Do you plan to drop the car? What's your budget? What's more important; handling or 0-60? Do you mind to rub a bit if it doesn't really damage the car or the tires? Do you regularly carry passengers in the rear? So many questions that need answers before anyone can really help you with tires. It's not as simple as it seems. |

I’d advise 265/30 front and 285/30 back in mich ps4s. If you’re still getting spin midway thru 2nd/3rd gear; consider playing with lowering pressure a few pounds or lowering power by gear a few %….

And this is a perfect example of why we don't listen to just anyone about tires.
No disrespect intended dude, but I'm going to use you as an example. 1. The 265/30 PS4S will almost assuredly rub in the front on 9.5 +27. 2. The 285/30 PS4S runs particularly skinny, and as such is as near as makes no difference in width to the stock 265, and has a SHORTER sidewall, which will grip less. 3. At his height the 265/285 combo will make his gap look like a monster truck. |

Stock tire dimensions; 9.8wide 25.8tall front 10.7wide 26.3 tall rear 265/285 combo 10.7wide 25.3tall front 11.4 wide 25.8tall rear about 1/4” of added fender gap = monster truck? Especially on a black car…dramatic OP, do a search on this forum for pics of others running similar setups. I was worried due to people making comments about my future tire setup..but after searching im good..Everyone says its bad, then someone does it and shows irs good/fine. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25675441 |

You'll find very few cars running 265/30 & 285/30 indeed. Less than 10 I think, and there are good reasons for that, but hey, to each their own. |

Go with 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear
Choose a sticky 200 thread wear compound - yokohama a052 - yokohama advan ad09 -nankang crs - bridgestone re71rs Check on tire rack yo make you an idea with these sizes The titan7 are designed to run up to 265-30-19 front 295-30-19 rear Without rubbing They are the same specs as the apex ec7 Good luck shopping I personally run these wheels, I tried on these: Goodyear eagle super car 3 : 245/35/19 front and 265/35/19 rear, very good sticky tires but the oem size is a bit stretched on the wheels, its safe and offer good performance because by the tires specs, the wheels are ok but i prefer 255/275 Tried Michelin cup2 255/275, was perfect fitment, great tires Now i run 255/275 Michelin pilot super sport, perfect too, more street oriented vs the 2 other Got a good deal from a brand new take off supra which are bmw star specs tires For me, next are bridgestone re71rs 255/275 |

I am leaning towards replacing the MPSS tires with the Firehawk Indy 500s. I’ve heard some good reviews on the Indy 500s and the price being half the price as the MPSS and similar performance wise.
I am after better straight line grip, roll racing and will be doing 1/4 mile drag in the future. should I go 255/35, 275/35 or will 255/35 285/35 be better? |
