Also looking at the 305/30/19 for the rear with 275/30 front, but worried about that width on stock 10” wheels. |

If you have a C/O setup and enough neg camber up front its possible to run the 275/30's and then the 295/35's on the rears. You should be able to dial out most if not all the understeer with TP and shock settings. I'm at a T&T event tomorrow and will be dialing in my 265/295 setup in

Oh, and the fastest lap was 5 seconds quicker than my previous best on Hankook RS4. So still a quick tire, and if I backed off for a lap, they recovered well and I could run a couple more laps before they go greasy again. Probably not a great tire for hot days. Also don’t seem to be longer wearing than the A052 I ran last fall. I like their behavior a bit more at the limit than the A052, but I’d probably run either for cold and wet days, depending on what sizes I wanted to run and availability. I ordered another set of RS4 between sessions today to run once it warms up and dries out. The RS4 is hard to beat for tire life even if they aren’t the quickest. 3-4 day tires are just a hassle. |

A052 were good for three days. I think I can get a 4th out of them. I’ll find out on the 22nd. I’ll get some pics of the RT660. I did two wet days prior to this weekend with maybe half a session (~10minutes) in the dry. Fortunately we’re changing direction so that should even out wear, but CCW yesterday left the right side tires quite worn. I did get over 200 miles on track yesterday, and will probably get similar today. Hoping I can flip them after this weekend and get another couple normal length (5x 20 minute sessions) days before they’re done. |

They are very fast, but at the expense of higher cost and higher wear.

Honestly, I'm perfectly happy with that life. I'm on the extreme end , though, where I'd buy a tire that lasted 1 day if it was 3 seconds faster

So, what’s the comparo of the take off Pirelli or Michelin slicks vs new R7’s?
I know the take offs are cheaper and capable of quick laps. What about grip, tread/heat cycle longevity, durability over a 30-45min summertime session, etc? |

Also, we only get 15 minute sessions in time attack And finally, takeoffs will only be temporary/for warmups/track tour laps. Stickers for the sessions that count |

Maybe the take offs vs new slicks will be a good bang/buck grip compromise that won’t over stress my daily driver on the fun days. |

I caution anyone who's looking to run slicks.
They are wicked sensitive and require being operated in a specific heat range. I ran some take offs about 10 years ago until I had my left front tire internally let go on the downhill corner at LRP. Diapers were needed. No more slicks for me and I'm also not chasing times anymore either. I want to set a suspension up, set the cold tire temps, and drive with no worries. They also are MUCH more twitchy at their rolling friction limits (squarer sidewall and internal construction) Yes they're faster, and can be cheaper if you get the race day leftovers from a source you trust. I just don't like the extra work and worries of them...

- Ohlins RT - BBS E88 race pocket front 19x9.5 +26 - 265/30 MP4S - Millway street camber plates I did opt for a 7" front spring which is a tad shorter than standard. I'd love to not use a spacer. I've seen a couple others claim to get away with 9.5 +27 and +25 on the front with Ohlins and no spacer. |

Is anyone here running 295s in the front? The Tyspeed M2 is running 295s at all four corners on 18x10.5et40 wheels. He’s got 25mm spacers up front to accommodate the extra rubber. I’m wondering if anyone else is running this setup and if so what suspension setup are you running and do you get any rub on the fender liner?

Off season work is going to be to raise the entire car about 3/8" to get out of the wheel adjustment and see what I can do about fitting 10.5" rims.

Here's my setup, looking for a "streetable" track tire.
19x9.5ET24 19.10.5ET44 Dinan HAS lowered .5" front (no inside clearance issues such as R&T) "Street" Camber plates could be set to -2.8 -Would 265/35/19 fronts "rub" with 13mm lowering? If not, I would run Goodyear Supercar 3/3R. -Is 275/30/19 and 305/30/19 workable in an RT660? -Am I stuck with a shorter 265/295/30 in Trofeo R or PSC2 Connect? Thanks! |

You'll have no issue with the 305/30/19 and your setup, but the 275/30 may rub at lock. I think the 275/30 would be fine under compression since it's shorter, but IDK for certain if it was the height or the width of the 265/35 that rubs at lock. The Trofeo is pretty damn comfortable & quiet relative to other streetable track tires, but lacks some grip compared to say the now gone loud ass RE-71R. Several guys have run the Supercar 3 and liked it, so that's another option depending on sizes. The M2/M2C is definitely under tired for the track, so any rubber you can get on the car larger than stock will help. Last edited by ZM2; 07-23-2021 at 02:15 PM.. |
