You know and simply take a piece of 3M tape and various thickness hard rubber shims like those used on the bottom chairs and simply tape it to the existing OEM stop. Hell, you could use a Legos if you wanted to. I've been running this essentially free clutch stop for nearly 1.5 years. No need to remove any panels either. I just reach up behind the pedal. 10 second install. I can't believe people actually pay money for this.

So if you didn't have 3M tape, rubber shims, legos then what? You'd have to buy those too. We are talking $9.99 for the clutch stop. Surely if you can afford this car you'll be fine.

Agree with a lot of the other replies. The BMS clutch stop is a must have. I drove about 2 hours after picking up my M. Felt like the clutch was a little off. Put the BMS clutch stop in today and did some mountain driving. So much better, I only used 2 spacers. It really feels a lot better and easier to drive. Glad I pre-purchased and brought along for my PDC pickup.

Side note, I actually really like the rev matching. Yes it would be nice to have a off button but it actually makes driving easier too and more enjoyable in my opinion.

For DIYers and people that work with their hands and have kids, these things are lying around the house. Just pointing that one can make this things for a few bucks and in my case, essentially free. And is far quicker and easier to install. Everyone should have a roll of 3M double sided tape in their house. Everyone

Just trying to open eyes to different options. It's not about the money here, but I certainly expected the "money" response on a BMW forum. LOL

It's the arrogant "I can't believe people pay money for this" part. Like we're all idiots. You realize with 3M tape and household items you can also make yourself a pair of shoes. Just sayin'.

I can make that with a couple of coat hangers and some old pen springs.

Did this a few weeks ago and love it with three shims. No need for tools other then maybe a flash light to see. I just reached my fingers through the opening and pulled the stock one and replaced with the BMS stop. In all, took maybe a minutes time. Much better now.

I laughed, but you're clearly missing the point. There's a bit of a difference between a simple plastic pin and some table foot pads with holes cut in them (shims) and making your own and the UCP. Don't be upset that some of us are actually handy and prefer to do things ourselves where we can. Not all BMW owners just throw money at stuff. Ok, maybe most do LOL

Yes, I figure as much.

Ultimate Clutch Pedal takes away all the slop from the OEM bushing and flex from the plastic OEM pedal arm. Travel is reduced and the height lowered as well(benefit those who left foot brake or just looking for easier transition from the dead pedal). That i just to name a few benefits of UCP.

Got mine installed today with 3 shims and have to say, it is much improved. I still have some getting used to to do with the clutch, but it's much smoother now!

Can't argue with any of that. Love my UCP for the reduced travel, lower resting point, and more consistent feel through the pedal travel. Great mod.

I can't believe people think the M2 has a long (or heavy) clutch. You all would be in shock over the TT... First time I tried a BMW stick at the dealership I could hardly believe how short and light the pedal was.

I think the M2's clutch is pretty light, but has a long throw and the stock resting point is higher than the brake pedal, making for more lift than I like. In the middle "sport" position, the UCP is firmer than stock, which I welcome, along with the lower resting point and shorter travel.

That's frightening if the TT has a longer throw clutch than the M car clutch pedals

Compared to the 5MT in my prior 2012 WRX, the clutch in these cars is rather light. My annoyance is with the amount of clutch pedal travel and the rather quick, and sometimes odd, clutch take-up and the throttle pedal tuning. I think much of the issue is with the self-adjusting clutch and heavy dual mass flywheel. I went as far as getting a Sprint Booster to help me drive the 6MT smoother. In the Comfort throttle setting, the accelerator is too dead and it makes a leaving is 1st a bit slow and throttle tip-in sucks. In the Sport throttle setting, the throttle is too quick and causing jack rabbit starts and the throttle hard to modulate during aggressive driving. The Sprint Booster gives me the ability to fine tune the throttle to right in the middle between the Comfort and Sport throttle settings.

It's a device that allows for the adjustment of throttle sensitivity. In your M2 you have a Comfort throttle and Sport throttle mapping. The Comfort throttle is more linear in terms of power delivery and much of the pedal throw is used, meaning that the pedal to the floor is full 100% throttle. With the Sport throttle, the throttle opens earlier and more rapidly as you apply the throttle. Full 100% throttle is realized at about 70% of throttle throw application. The remaining 30% of the pedal throw is dead space.

The Comfort throttle can feel a bit dead in the first 20% of travel and make the motor feel rather unresponsive. In the Sport throttle setting, the motor is bit over responsive in the first 20% or so of travel.

The Sprint Booster has two modes of operation, "Sport" and "Race", with each mode having 9 different throttle settings for a manual transmission. Sport mode has a more linear throttle, each increasing throttle sensitivity by 6% or so with each increase in setting. The Race mode has the more aggressive, less linear throttle, with the setting increasing sensitivity by 6% as well.

The Sprint Booster has made it much easier for me to smoothly drive the car coming off the line and on the 1-2 shift with the Comfort throttle setting. It's basically like the Comfort throttle X 15%. All it took was the Sport mode on setting "1" to get me what I wanted.

Just installed mine. Took 2 minutes. I think for those pushing really hard, you're probably pushing towards the front of the car. Push up more towards the roof. Once I changed my angle of push, it went it fairly easily.

Short test drive, it was pretty good. Not quite as pronounced as others have said, but maybe they were putting it to the floor to shift each time. I usually try to push in the clutch as little as possible. Maybe thats why I'm not noticing a big difference.
