Because they don't want all of us with M2 and M2C cars getting CF hoods without paying the $30,000. CS exclusivity tax.

If the M4 CS parts are any indication, it won't be cheap

I assumed that these hoods have been available for quite a while and that several comp owners already ordered and installed on their cars. Way before the CS ever went into production... Did i misunderstand?

Can’t wait to see someone have the hood IRL. Can’t tell if I like it from the pics

Update on this thread guys.
We're building a CS Hood. Pre-preg Carbon. Will be in the region of £2,000. The genuine OEM item is £4,200. |

Random question about this hood, if you have it on a daily driver and you get caught in a bad storm, where is all the water going to once it enters the hood opening?

Looking good! I can confirm I can also see other m2 competitions with a genuine CS hood as well in Europe.
Parts are not VIN-Locked (seems UK dealers don't want to sell the part to a non genuine CS owner)

I have a question but I'm not sure if it's up your avenue.. I was watching YouTube video yesterday, where an installer claimed that he was able to get an "OEM" GTS hood (bonnet), for cheap because he sourced it directly from the manufacturer, of which BMW subcontracts but just without the logos. Does such an option exist, even on the fringes, were one is able to purchase a hood directly from the manufacture (sans the BMW logos) or is he full of it and it's really a genuine knock-off I'm looking at? Thanx in advance.. Cue the video to 6:15: |
