Yea I thought it was weird too, but I can definitely feel a difference . Maybe since you already have a M3 it'd feel the same. Good call on the 763s, they look great, but get dirty real fast lol.

Photo cred to Matt , so happy with the look.
On a side note I'm noticing that I don't feel the excitement like I had in the OG in wanting to drive the car. I remember when I had the OG, every morning after I woke up I just wanted to drive it. I suspect it is the sound . Well this just makes the decision for Akra easier though. It cannot come soon enough. |

Thanks! I don't have the alignment sheet, but I think it's 3/4 inch, camber set at -2 degrees and 10 clicks all around. I think the front can go a tiny bit lower, but this is the usual with Ohlins they have the rear lower than the front.

Haha yea I know. Must be lowered in my opinion... doesn't have to be much. I think I might get some spacers up front, it's a little tucked in if you look at it from an angle from front

Wow!
Your car looks great - can't wait to see and hear the Akra on that bad boy. Have you considered a different caliper color? I am thinking I might get those painted red or orange, something bright, that would help contrast the 763s and the pie plate brake discs. How "salty" are the Ohlins?

Thanks! I haven't considered a different caliper color, until you brought it up . I think red would really stand out, but I'm fine with silver (for now). I'm pretty sure they're just gonna turn black after some track days.

Red would definitely look awesome....I think a bright orange would work well with HS too. EDIT: Here's the video:

Akrapovic Slip on + Linkpipe installed
Hey guys,
Reporting back after installing Akra Evo (Slip on + Linkpipe) on my M2C. I've been waiting for this ever since I got the car. Before yall flame me for spending this much on an exhaust, I'll briefly explain why I chose Akra. I had an 18 M2 with MPE before, so I know that the s55 will never have the tone as a n55. However, I felt like with a good setup it can still sound good, but of course that's just personal opinion. Although the N55 MPE sounded sweet, it droned and rattled and I was annoyed by it even if I didn't want to admit it. So this time I was also looking for quality when I was choosing the exhaust. I actually hated Akra before, thought it was stupidly expensive for no reason. But now I'm a complete fan. The craftsmanship is UNREAL, when I saw it in person I was just amazed. Also I could pick up the rear section with one hand, definitely can't do that with the stock exhaust lol. I prefer a deep but not too bassy sound but gets higher pitched as the rpm goes higher. After countless hours listening to all the Youtube videos I could find, I found that Akra fit my preference the best. One thing I will say though is that these systems sound completely different in real life vs on video. The other option I had was Remus, but Remus to me sounds deep throughout the rev range. I ruled out Eisenmann and AA because they are too loud and raw to me. In the end, it's all just personal preferences really. After installation, all I can say is WOW. It completely transformed the car. This is exactly the sound I'm looking for. I am extremely satisfied with the character that Akra has provided the car with. In efficient mode with valves closed, it's EXACTLY the same loudness as stock, super quiet. Sport/Sport+ with valves closed it only gets loud when you really step on it. My favorite right now is Efficient and valves open. Loud and no burbles . You get some burbles in sport and never ending burbles in sport+ when valves are open. Many told me that Akra slip-on is pretty tame, so I also bought the linkpipe. Plus you get a specific sound kit but it's really not needed. I feel like the slip on + linkpipe is the perfect level of sound for me, adding a DP would make it too loud. I'll attach some pics for now and try to capture the sound on video later. Thanks to MR and CJ41BIG for helping me decide on this, as well as Matt and ACM for everything they've done. I feel like the car is complete now Last edited by M2GT; 04-21-2019 at 08:11 PM.. |

Looks fantastic. Did you have to remap the ECU with the addition of the Evo link pipe?

Wow, that looks really good! I've never replaced an OE exhaust before, so newbie question - does this void any part of the car's warranty (other than defects in the exhaust of course)?
Did you hear the Akra exhaust without the linkpipe? I'm not looking for louder than stock, but certainly not quieter. Thanks!
