TIL occasionally use the e-brake while coasting
For the non-redditors, TIL stands for Today I Learned.
I was perusing through the manual and came across the following passage. Honestly I’ve never done this, nor have ever thought about it. |

So it's saying if you pull the handbrakes up, while the car Is still moving and keep the release button depress, it won't alert you?
Which is some unconventional way of cleaning the rotors.. Interesting |

Be careful you don't do a hand brake turn somewhere that could be embarrassing.
In rallying, a handbrake turn is extremely useful for getting your car to rotate around a tight corner and keep momentum. By locking up the rear wheels, the driver can slow the car, slide the rear end out, and get the car pointed in the right direction without having to brake excessively and lose valuable speed. |

I do this when I’m speeding and see a cop. Need to bleed a bit of speed without activating those brake light.
Sorry, that was a typo. I never speed. |

Didn't know it was in the manual, but this is something I always used to do on manual handbrake cars, guess all the electric brakes made me forget about this!
I shall do it tomorrow... |

I think this is more needed people living in colder climates where it snows and there is more potential for corrosion.
This guys rear brakes locked up due to rust and had to get his car towed and change his rear brakes. |
