Whoa. Speaking of inconvenient, it appears they put the start button on the wrong side of your steering wheel?

So any RHD BMW/M2 has the startbutton on the left hand side?
Never noticed that until now.

I think that's the only place they could of logically put it as no room on the other side, isn't the dash layout a mirror image of your cars just that we have the steering wheel on the correct side?

I'm not going to start a discussion about which side is the correct one.

I'm just going to leave you with this picture of the interior of probably the greatest sportscar the world has ever seen: the starter button is on the right hand side(centre console) and so is the gearlever...

Cheers

Thanks for the better quality of that M2 instrument cluster picture. Says more than a thousand words.

Needless to say that the poor readability of the M2 speedometer and rev-counter dials in darker lighting conditions (overcast, woods, etc.) is even worse when wearing a pair of sunglasses.

Jason, Dackelone or southlight: can anyone point this comfort and safety issue out to BMW M so that this can be addressed ?

Based on the photos, it seems like the gauge backlights isn't on at all in the pics....

Push/start button has been on the left of the steering wheel on all RHS drive cars I have driven!

That's the issue, there is no guage backlight's during daylight and that combined with the silver dials on grey background makes it illegible most of the time.

I really do believe that every single M2 owner should complain to the dealer and to BMW NA. This should be fixed by BMW one way or another and sooner rather than later.

I like the HUD, top-down cameras and blind spot warning. All three not available for M2 for some reason. I don't care about the braking thing, the speed limit thing, and the lane departure thing.

You won't see such poor readability of instrument dials happening on modern cars of BMW's competitors (Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, etc.).

I asked my dealer to report this issue to BMW. He did and BMW replied to him that I wasn't the first to point it out - BMW knows about it.

BMW should address this, definitely.
Exactly. It should be a recall. In some conditions it's almost impossible to read the Tach/Spedo for some reason. It's only easy at night.

I always turn on the digital speed display so I can see my speed when the sun is out, but then you can't see the Posted Speed Limit which makes that feature unless.

Damn....I did not know that this was the case. This is unsafe and bad engineering for a car like this. I can only hope for my car, that they will resolve the issue with iDrive 5.0 update. If not I wil ask my dealer to make a complaint to BMW Benelux...when I receive my car. I urge more M2 owners to do this, that maybe BMW gets it that there are a group of not so happy customers and that they can fix this issue.... And in the same time they can code a decent oil temperature meter in the iDrive 5.0.

Yes mate.

So i got a reply.
