Brake calliper colour change

Really starting to dislike the blue - it doesn’t go with anything on a HS car, so looking to change.
Had my mind set on a pale gold as I think it compliments the different shades of HS, but also like red and silver.

Just after some thoughts and ideas...
Cheers.

I really like red because it goes with alot of colors, silver wouldn't be optimal for me since you have HS so it would be too similar and blend in too much and not offer enough contrast and thus make it look bland. Gold is pretty nice but I think it's too loud for me personally.

Overall I would go red unless you plan on heavy track use because red will turn dark brown due to heat.

This is a good point. No color is safe for track days except for black. On a different car I had Brembos painted black with some high temp decals by a reputable shop. The decals turned dark brown and the clear coat over the decals cracked half way through the second track day. If I ever paint calipers again it'll be black with decals over the top that can be easily replaced after track days.

For a street car I'd still go with a caliper color that's a darker shade so they don't show brake dust as much. I've had yellow and they were a nightmare to keep clean. Just a few miles of driving and brake dust was visible.

AP racing has some sort of anodized finished, that is really heat resistant and that's what I really like.

Man, I adore the blue, and definitely on HS. I have LBB, so I would prefer silver calipers, or that the color of blue match the car, but I'm a stickler for perfection, so I'd never refinish them.

I want these...

Silver tarnishes with heat, it starts to look grey black. Any painted Caliper will change color if you drive it hard enough to put a significant amount of heat into the brakes.

Personally, I don't drive my car that hard, so they would probably work for me. But again, I'm so OCD that it'd have to be done to a higher level than stock, which is a stretch.

Although these look very good used.

I personally like it when calipers are painted the same as the exterior color of the car

for anyone that has changed the color of their brakes, what was the method? I'm hesitant in powder-coating since it would require the brakes to be rebuilt.

Most people are probably going to have them powder coated. If you don't want to go that route, you can get good results painting them yourself with some proper paint, but it probably won't look as good as a powder coat job. Another alternative is reflective vinyl wrap, holds up to temps really well (can easily survive ~10 seconds or so of a direct flame from a blowtorch). When I wrapped cars, we had a couple per month come in for reflective calipers. Looks awesome IMO. I should still have pictures of a few somewhere, if you're interested in how it looks.

Side note: I dislike red, too common. Brembo gold, Lime Green, or Yellow gets my vote.

I've never heard of vinyl wrapping calipers. Do they hold up to track temps (and would they fade eventually)?

I'd like to get rid of the faded blue color, but I figure if I paint it it'll just fade again.
