Are you still running just the front AP kit? If so, how is it working out for you?

Works great. If you’re an aggressive braker you’ll get fade, color change, and burnt dust boots with the OEM blue brakes.

The APs solved all those issues for me.

Do you drive yours in the winter? Wondering about additional grime getting in without dust boots.

I do. I never got an answer from AP or Essex on if it really matters. Seems like road grime wouldn’t be a big deal compared to track abuse.

I suppose if you bleed the brakes often enough...but would you have to do it mid winter?

I usually change brake fluid twice a year. Once before track season, once towards the end of track season.

Could you tell us if the Stage 1 made much difference on street and/or track?

I went to a Dinan open house a few years ago and the tour guide (post-Steve CEO?) said that it fills in the midrange torque curve. Fine, but is it worth it?

It’s a nice noticeable bump in hp and tq, but it’s not worth their price. I only did it at the time bc I was going to go Stage 4 later.

Plus, you’re in CA with only 91 octane. Dinan Stage 1 requires 93 to see any real gains.

If you’re looking for more power bootmod3 is the best bang for the buck, and is what I switched to. They have a couple 91 maps that should get you some more power.

Thanks for this thread - it helps people like me who hasn't tracked yet, but is open to doing so in the future.

Just for clarification, what does the Dinan stage 4 upgrade entail?
