GTS Transmission Flashed to my M2...and flashed back to stock

Update in May 2017, flashed back to the stock transmission. GTS software is sluggish, doesn't hold gear and doesn't downshift remotely as aggressive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had my DCT GTS flashed/coded last weekend. Having spent a couple days with it in traffic of downtown city and elevated roads with speed limited to 60mph, I confirm that driving smoothness is significantly improved. Summarized as the following:

1) Eagerness to upshift. You won't be seeing rpm linger at middle or upper rev range on throttle lift like it would with stock software. The jerkiness on 1st or 2nd is gone as well, because it always tries to upshift to smooth it out.
It seems C/S/S+ have similar early shifting strategy. They just differ in throttle response.

2) M3/4 guys think it makes a smoother downshift, especially from 2nd to 1st in acceleration. Well...difference isn't significant to me because stock downshift isn't jerky either. I need more time to look for the difference.

3) Improvement on shifting time and clamp torque is not something I can sense.

4) Downside, due to its willingness to upshift and stay in lower rpm, you will hear less burble, though you can always use sequential to fix that.

Let me know what you think.
BTW, driving modes now display C1 and M1 as opposed to D and 1. See below.

Press the board computer button on the left stalk, and keep pressing until you get that screen.

No, the difference is very very noticeable. It is just as smooth as a ZF8!

Uhmm... Could it be they engineered this in to make the M2 more joyful?

I just used BM3's GTS flash and it went through!! It flashed! It works! I had no idea we could do this as I thought it was only for the S55.

I have a US '17 and it definitely does not show the blue to red bar or a temperature in any display. Just pressing bc button cycles through but never shows those details.

Does your driving mode show C like mine or D?

You have to cycle to the temp section and leave for a few seconds and the bar will appear.

Are you waiting long enough? Do you get a display that says either COLD or OK? When that appears, stop cycling through the display then the bar graph will appear about 3 seconds later. That's what mine does - YMMV.

I would wait until there is confirmation from proTUNING Freaks before flashing this onto your DCT M2.

I was just thinking about flashing this through BM3 the other day and didn't want to do it unless I knew it was compatible. I don't see why it wouldn't be but I'm glad you confirm it is. I'm probably going to try this on my drive home today and see how it feels. Thanks for the update!

For some reason my car won't flash the BM3 transmission flash idk why. I'll try again in a little. If anyone has any update or idea why I'd appreciate the help! Thanks!
