Quick question, do we drive our own cars or does BMW provide their fleet of M vehicles?

Do these events generally sell out? If so, how far in advanced would you have to sign up to ensure you get a spot?

All set for Saturday, 07/29 at COTA. Super excited as this would be my first experience on a race track.

Lead follow, meh. You need to drive COTA at speed in your own M car, it's fun.

You can get more bang for your buck by attending a proper track day with your local CCA chapter and get a lot more seat time. Not sure this is worth $250.

The lead-follow at Thermal was the best part last year, and instructors drove as fast as the slowest car in your group allowed. It was awesome.

It's nice deal to be able to use someone else's car for $250 and have no worries.

It's also a great way for BMW to get some people out to the track that would never take their own car there.

For those of you that want more than a taste of driving .. a BMW CCA HPDE would definitely be more " bang for your buck " and certainly go one step further than this type of event .. which is really more of a glorified test drive.

If you haven't gotten a chance to drive some of these M cars it's a great opportunity.

I hope that many of you that attend get hooked on HPDE

COTA in July ..

There are two events in Austin this year at COTA being hosted by BMW CCA

Schnellfest and the Texas Eurofest at Austin May 19-21 and also Schnellfest at Austin November 17-19

https://lscbmwcca.org/motorsports/driving-school/
For those of you near Texas that are interested in tracking your car in less than zillion degree temps .. ... check them out !
