Just read the guides and watch the videos before you start so you don't mess anything up. It's overall s very safe process but better safe than sorry.

There's one on YouTube made by tokenmaster on fdl coding.

Also read all of the documents that were made on it regarding FDL coding and FA coding.

In regards to your crashing issue I recommended uninstalling and reinstalling esys 3.27.1 since this version is the version that is verified to have all the functions working. Also make sure you install on the C drive, and your system has enough ram.

Oh and make sure you have a launcher that supports your esys version.

Downloaded the software and realized I don't have the Lan cable. So ordered it. Is there a cheat sheet for F87 or F8x series? Watched few videos, which is our F87 is under in targetselector drop down option?

I think there is a cheat sheet on bimmerfest, but I dont think its specific to the F87 so look for the F22 one as it is the most similar to our cars. If you can't find it send me a pm and I'll dig through my macbook later today and send it to you.

Target selector is F020 there is no f87, choose the one with the newest version so mine was F020_19_07_539 as that matched my istep as well.

Did you install your PSZdata files correctly and make those folders that was required?

Link for the files didn't work for me, so I skipped Zdata file step. I think that's what went wrong. Emailed Shawn waiting on correct files.

Replied to your pm, and yeah that sounds good. You'll likely have reinstall esys clean.

Yeah the premium launcher has issues for me too, use launcher pro bfu version there's a free token that'll expire next year in April.

You prob need to use a rearm app to re-enable the launcher otherwise you'll be in an endless loop of pin requests.

Or get the other launcher suggested above.

That's what I am using rearm, I load it first and than run the launcher app, still giving me the token window. My rearm version is 2.0.4

What I did to get a working E-Sys environment:
Windows 10 64 bit.
Steps:
- System date/time set to august 10th 2018
- Launch rearm 2.0.4
- Launch E-Sys Launcher Premium
- Enter new code (e.g. 0000), generate token
- Esys launches

You need to

- disconnect from the internet, then
- set your laptop's date between July 1, 2018 and Dec 31, 2018
- then use the Re-arm tool

Nice, hope you enjoy the new feel!

I heard the software was released in 2017-2018 so m2C time so I don't think they were planning the CS steering at that point.

Yeah that's right - F87cs was the initial bmw internal codename for the m2c

I had Alex from Alpine Motorsport (alex@alpinemss.com) code these onto my M2C.

I found Alex from browsing the M3 F80 forum and many owners had used him as well.

I was having trouble downloading the correct E-SYS version and launcher and then getting them to run.

So for a small fee I had him do it remotely..

*GTS EPS (Electronic Power Steering) *Stiffens steering for better control/handling with more advance power assist.

*GTS Traction Control *Givens more slip in MDM and allows better traction control settings (you can select this or euro MDM not both)

I had him code for Euro MDM most slip possible.

*GTS Differential *Allows for better take off from the line and better control on turns.

I'm north of Boston so it will be a bit before I can get the car out and play with it. Excited to see what the changes do for the car...

You can change parameters for traction control and MDM so that you get Euro GTS MDM. That said, I'm not sure there's any difference between US GTS and Euro GTS MDM.

I have GTS diff and Euro GTS MDM and you can definitely get sideways.
